Hi, curious if anyone has any feedback in regards to their BSNs program's. St Vincent's college is closer than Goodwin and like the fact they have an evening program, or hope they do since the transition to a BSN program. I heard Goodwin is a good school for nursing, but don't know much outside of their points system.
Appreciate any feedback!
Thanks.

St Vincent's has two nursing programs. They have the Associates degree program and the BSN progrm however, the St V's BSN program is an RN to BSN. You cannot just go straight through to the BSN program, you have to be an RN first. All the BSN nursing classes (with the exception of the last 2) are all fully online. The vast majority of the gen ed classes are also fully online but there are some that are available either fully online or in the traditional classroom setting, so you can chose to do either online or class.
the 2 nursing classes that are not fully online involve you having to do 45 'clinical' hours in addition to the actual class schedule. Thee clinical hours are set up by the student and have to be done during the 8 week course time frame.

I'm finishing goodwin's BSN program. It is entirely online with no clinical. You can do the hybrid and go to on site class if you want.

It's not clear from your OP if you are already a nurse looking to bridge to a BSN or if you are starting from scratch. If you're looking to get into nursing, both St. Vincent's and Goodwin start out as associate degree programs, and you can go on to a BSN later.
If you are not yet an RN, please know that St. Vincent's NCLEX pass rate hasn't been too good lately. For 2013, only 63% passed on the first try for both day and evening classes. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time or money on a program that wasn't consistently passing more than 80% of its graduates. Ideally, I'd want to see the pass rate closer to 90%. Goodwin seems to be in the low-mid 80% range.
So, if you are looking to get into nursing, your best bet is probably the Community Colleges, if you can make that happen. They all have solid NCLEX pass rates and excellent reputations. In a job market as saturated as CT is, you're going to want the best possible reputation backing you up as you apply for your first job. Plus, they are MUCH less expensive than the private programs. The CCs are $4K per year. For comparison, Goodwin is about $20K per year.
If you are looking to bridge from an RN to BSN, have you considered any public universities? I know SCSU and WCSU both have strong programs for nursing, and cost about half what Goodwin does. SCSU's RN-BSN program can be done online.

St V's is now 96% pass for the day program (the evening program is being phased out). So now St V's is 96% and Goodwin is 84%
