Going back for my RN

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hi all,

I am planning on going back to get my RN and really have no idea on where to start. I have been an LPN since 2010, have worked in nursing homes, assisted living, home health and currently working in the insurance field. In my current position you cannot advance without your RN. My question is if anyone knows of a good LPN to RN bridge program? I live in Chicago and most of the nursing schools I have looked at don't have a bridge program. I really cannot afford to stop working to go to school full time so online and classroom would work for me. I did find a nursing school in Hoffman Estates called Ambria College of Nursing that offers evening and weekend classes but it is really far for me to travel to. Would anyone know of any closer to the south suburbs of Chicago? Any suggestions would be great!

Specializes in GENERAL.

You could try looking at (collegescorecard.ed.gov) this site is not an advertisement for any one school in paticular as is the nursing program site so often referred to on AN which tends to be laden with schools that are expensive and have very low graduation and retention rates.

The Dept of Ed sponsered site will help guide you in the right direction without the hard sell and we can fulfill your dreams sweet talk.
