GN status after NCLEX

I took my NCLEX yesterday and I feel as most people do after they take the exam-lost. I am really worried about going to work today because I know that is against the BNE to work when you lose your GN license and if I go to work today and had failed, I don't want to get in trouble. What should I do? My GN status is still active. When will it turn inactive?

You give up your GN status, in most states when you pass or fail the NCLEX....either you become an RN or demote to whatever position that your facility permits after failure of NCLEX. But the status does not change until youa or the facility reasonably "knows and can acknowledge the information.

As to when you actually reasonably " know" this - it is when you are expected to check your results and that depends on your state.

I was told if you failed that day that the BNE would have your GN status as null and void that very same day. Have you heard that?

I've decided I am not going to work today. I know I failed, what's the point.

Go to work. Until your results are issued, you have no way of knowing that you have failed the exam.

As of today, you have not failed the exam, so there is nothing to worry about. Only once you actually get the results from your BON will you need to stop working; but that is only if you do not pass.

The majority of the people come out of the exam assuming that they have not passed the exam and the majority of them do pass. 85% actually.

Again, go to work.
