Anything to enter the USA in a time when there is no demand for PH nurses. Smells fishy. Too good to be true.

As far as I am aware there are restrictions with working full time whilst on a student visa. H1b can only be applied for if employer willing to go that route, requires you in that job capacity, it is April unless they are not affected by the cap like a university and depending on where you was born there is still a wait for a GC.

There is also no fast visa processing, each embassy will process things at their pace

Silverdragon102, there is such a program in USA called CPT - Curricular Practical Training. Under this program, students can work full time during their studies, as it's a part of their curriculum.

As for the H1B cap, you will be surprised to know that there is a separate cap for U.S. Master degrees holders, so this is how they are going to apply for the H1B visas when they get their Master's degrees.

Also, why are you saying "there is no fast visa processing", this is not true, at least in Manila. You can make a visa appointment within a week, they tell you if you are approved or denied on spot, then you get your visa by post within a week. Check the website of Global Visa Support for testimonials, these people are already in USA, studying and working.

Mind you, nobody said "100% visa approval", since in U.S. embassy you still need to pass the interview with the visa officer, but the processing is really fast.

TO Yeng, can you post the actual link of this program? I'm curious where in CA this is located and if they are "approved" by who?

I too find this university very suspect, especially about the part of if you have your NCLEX, you can become a nurse in CA? How is that possible since the BSN degree is the basic degree which is being denied by the CA BON and using a Master's of another studies, is not the same to my understanding, as a MSN? I mean is this an "approved" MSN by the CA BON?

I also find first time poster of RN Jonas kind of interesting. First timer, well written information, it does sound like either you know something we don't or maybe you work or know this organization Yeng_27 speaks of? Please enlighten us on the NCLEX and a degree not at all related to nursing can be granted a CA license?

RN Jonas, are you an RN in CA already? I'm not trying to call you out, but you present some information that seems too good to be true, at the same time a possible solution if the stories are verified to be true and really approved. Are there already approved RN's in CA thru this university that graduated as there's a way to verify such nurses via CA BON site?

CPT has to be applied for once in the US on the student visa and is not guaranteed and as far as I am aware over a certain amount of hours will impact on OPT which can be used at the end when graduated allowing you to gain experience.

I also find it interesting that the link provided by the OP is for the UK, Canada and New Zealand and not the US therefore H1b will not come into play.

Canada - Student visa you can not come a citizen just like that, you have to physically live in Canada as a Permanent resident for 2 out of 5 years. This is also not mentioned in the skilled part. Also not up to date as skilled list is on hold until Jan 13 and not sure if nursing will be on it when it is released. No applications are currently being accepted.

UK - Starting salary for nurses is £21176 not £24000. Tier 2 can only be offered if the employer can prove they can not employ a settled worker. With current nurse job situation in the UK I will be surprised if that can be met. Also capped to 20,700workers (tier 2 general and earning less than £150,000 a year) UK Border Agency | Tier 2 (General)

As such, they are NOT on the approved CA BON Master's list. So how can this Global Visa offer courses that are going to be okay'd by the CA BON?

i thought it was a serious forum. steppybay - globalvisas.com and global visa support (www.globalvisasupport.com) are 2 different companies and they are not connected in any way. so what's the point to quote complaints about some other company with similar sounding name? are you working for a competitor of global visa suport? as for your comment "you know something we don't" - well, there are people in this world, who might know things that you don't, and vice versa... another thing: who is not approved by ca bon? an mba course? since when a master's in business administration should be approved by a board of nursing? this is same as saying that nursing courses should be approved by a chamber of commerce :) please read before you comment.

silverdragon102 - you are right when you say "cpt has to be applied for once in the us on the student visa", but the schools that global visa support promotes have this cpt as part of their curriculum. saying "cpt is not guaranteed" is same as saying "it is not guaranteed that you get a visa" - both statments are true, but in reality people get visas and get the cpt. again, look at their webiste (above) and click the testimonials. these people are already in u.s., they study and work under this cpt program.

but have you participated in any of this stuff or are you abroad already? do you have any tips that i might learn..:)

I can tell you this: don't trust anyone and you will have to work hard to achieve your goal. Immigration is not a bed of roses, it's always hard in the beginning, but if are determined enough and you follow the rules, you will get what you want.
