Getting RN degree in KY but working in OH

Hello,

I live in Ohio. If I go to school in KY and obtain my RN degree there but want to work in Ohio what would I have to do once I have my license? Just curious. I am trying to look at all my options! Also does anyone know anything about Beckfield College in KY and their nursing program? Thanks again:mad:

I don't know about the second part of your question but as far as where you work goes, from what I understand you can apply to take boards any any state once you have your degree. I went to school in PA but many of my classmates were planning to work at the Cleveland Clinic. They just took Ohio boards rather than PA boards. It is easier than trying to transfer your license from state to state. Hope this helps!

Simply take your NCLEX in Ohio. The NCLEX is the same in any state you take it in. I don't know anything about Beckley college. Is it near the north east border of the beautiful Bluegrass state?

Thanks for the info, it has helped! Beckfield college is in Florence KY. Very small college. A friend of mine received her Paralegal degree there but I just wondered about the RN program. It sounds really good so I think I am going to apply. Wish me luck!

When you graduate from Beckfield, and you don't want to work in KY, you just go to Ohio and take your NCLEX there...if you want a KY license, you have to work for 120 hrs. before you can take NCLEX, but in Ohio you just take the test.
