Getting ready for Cna exam

Published

I've taken my Cna course. I take my exam in three weeks. I try to study as much as I can. Im afraid between now and test day, I will forget everything. Does anyone have any advice how to keep information fresh in my mind? Thanks...

Remember the information the instructors especially emphasized.

Ask your instructor what THEY think is very important to remember.

Stop worrying and start reading the material!

Good luck!

Not CNA but, wishing you the best of luck. Don't put it off til the last minute and try to review each day a few minutes until you feel confident. The day before put everything away, eat well, rest plenty and be there early. :)

Thanks for the advice...

the skills test booklet is a good review. I just took my test at the end of july and it had been a month since i was in the class. The week of i started reviewing all of the skills in my head step by step and staying it out loud. saying out loud all of the items i needed for each task. Practice your blood pressures if you have a bp cuff and stethescope. As far as the written test, i didn't study for it because i think it is mostly common sense. I passed just fine. Just remember all of your items and privacy and infection control issues in your skills. Good luck.

Go to your state board of nursing website. Look under info for CNAs. They usually post a practice test for written and a set of step by step instructions for the skills you need. Very helpful, you can just print it out for free.
