Getting into nursing school

Hello everyone!

I'm currently taking my prereqs at a community college. I'm almost done with the req courses by 2 nursing programs I'm applying to. I've taken all my courses at cc, and I've been advised by my teacher to take some of my science courses at a university. Thoughts?

Unless that "teacher" is connected with the nursing programs to which you are applying, that advice is probably worthless. Save you money and take the courses at the CC.

Best of luck to you on your nursing education.

Some programs care where you take your prereqs, others don't. Contact the program specifically and ask if they care or not.

I have never heard of a program looking down on those who don't take prerequisites at a university. If they transfer to the school you're interested in going to, why the heck would it matter? I would stay at the CC

As long as the CC is accredited it shouldn't matter at all.

A CC can be accredited and the credits still not transfer to another school.

take your courses at a cc

and either become a CNA and work in a hospital

or volunteer in a hospital

Really? I'll take your word for it but I don't understand why a school wouldn't accept credits from ANY accredited university. Possibly be picky about which courses count as equivalent classes but simply not accept them is odd. Not the case with any of the schools I've looked at in my area but I know different schools have different rules.

I guess check the rules at the schools you are interested in.
