I just graduated from my BSN but I want to get my master's ASAP. The university I want to go into requires me one year of experience in acute care. I know it might sound dumb but what exactly is acute care? What options of areas of work does "acute care" give me?
Also, if anyone has accomplished finishing a Nurse Anesthetist Program or is currently in one, what is it like?

To be competitive for a nurse anesthesia program you need ICU experience. Read a few threads on here and you'll find information about nurse anesthesia. Also go to the AANA website.

If you don't know what acute care is you have a LONG way to go before you should apply to CRNA program -- or any program that allows you to be an independent advanced practice nurse.
Try being a nurse, see if you have the aptitude for clinical decision making, independent thought, critical thinking. If you do then shadow various advanced practice nurses.
BSN programs do not prepare you for advanced practice nursing, there is no fast track. Clinical experience and judgement as a NURSE is what separates advanced practice nurses from midlevel providers.
God Bless.
