Getting Nervous for Second Try

Published

I am taking the NCLEX-RN for the second time on Sept 26 and I am really starting to get nervous about it. The first time I took them was July 31 and I was such a nervous wreck that I thought my husband was going to committ me! I had all 265 questions the first time and it was the worst experience ever! It just kept going and going and going.

I think I psyched myself out of it last time and I have been trying so hard not to let that happen again....so any advise on how to keep my nerves in check would be greatly appreciated!:(

Hey Mrs. Coozy, I had a friend that failed the first time and she blamed it on nerves, too. Before she went to take the test the next time, she got a pedicure, a massage, just tried to relax. She passed, and attributes it to getting her mind off of NCLEX! :redpinkhe

Just remember that according to Kaplan, if you failed at 265 questions, that means you ALMOST PASSED and just got nervouse (like I did) and should practice more questions. Be sure to know your prioritizations since a lot of people are getting a lot of those...

You can also practice the same relaxation techniques we give patients when they are anxious (deep breathing, meditation) and you can take a break whenever you need to! You do not have to wait for the scheduled break.

Good luck to you!!!!!:yeah:
