Future student, looking for advice

Im still in high school right now, a senior, but im looking into getting my rn (obviously after geting my lpn), and im looking for some advice about it.

    You don't have to get your LPN prior to getting your RN. Plenty of folks go right for the RN.

    Yes, why "obviously"? No need to seek LPN licensure first if you know you want RN licensure. Also, I notice your screen name is "futuremedstudent." If what you want is to get into med school and become a physician, why bother with nursing at all? Or does the screen name mean something else?

    Well, the thing is, i was told i had to get my LPN before my RN by one of the colleges i looked at, and as for my name, it was just the first thing that came to me, my long term goal is to be a flight nurse

    That may be some wacky requirement of that particular school, but it's not a general, universal rule (in fact, I've never heard anyone say that in almost 25 years in nursing). Was it maybe one of the private-for-profit, proprietary tech/voc schools you were talking to? They are known for telling students they need to first enroll in other programs to "work up" to the one they want, not because it benefits the student, but because it puts $$$ in their (the school's) pockets. You are welcome to apply to RN programs without any previous licensure or healthcare experience. Best wishes!

    hmm, idk about that, i know the school is part of a hospital, and i also found out that if you attend that school, you have to be employed at that hospital, it wont work anywhere else...
