Full time to part time

Published

Hi guys , I'm currently in a LPN PROGRAM and I'm full time on Tuesday evening I made the change to part time due to personal reasons. Now full time is orginally mon-Friday 830-230 clinicals are Thursday Friday 8-2 we just started clinical last Friday 8-1 and today I would technically have to go today and tomorrow but since I'm starting part time on Monday I didn't think I i had to go to clinicals today or tomorrow being that I'm no longer full time! Keep in mind they full time takes 10 months to complete and part time 20 months and clinicals for part time don't start until March. The clinical director emailed me and said I'm marked absent for today and tomorrow becauSe I'm still considered full time ... and thst i have to make up clinical because I missed two and have to pay 200 dollars for both... correct me if I'm wrong but is this okay? Or should I say something being that i don't understand how it affect my clinical experience being that now that im I part time starting Monday and their clinicals don't start until March...

Please repost your question. Use paragraps, comma and periods.

I've tried to read your post three times and have to stop halfway through. It's very confusing.

I'm not trying to be rude. I'd love to help you out. But I don't understand what the issues are.

OP: I agree with the above poster, despite reading through your entire post, I do not know your exact question either. However, my advice to you is to gain clarity from your school. Posting on this forum is not going to be very helpful because we are not the ones making the decision regarding what is acceptable and unacceptable in your program. So, if you have an issue with being graded absent for clinicals you did not attend, talk to your school. GL!

I am also having trouble following your post. But I think what you are saying is that you thought you had changed from full time to part time but your clinical director did not think that, or had a different start date for the part time. If this is the case, then yes, I would politely speak to the director and try to clear this up, I guess I don't understand why the hesitation to do so.

That's odd they would change your status in the middle of a term. Have you spoken with an advisor? If you say the change would happen Monday, I'd assume you'd have to continue to show up.... but that would would be something that you work out with the academic office.
