FTCC Fall 2016

Hey, everyone! I am new to this site, and am looking for others in the same boat as me! I am just getting ready to submit my applications for Fall 2016. So far I am applying to two schools, one being FTCC. Is anyone else applying to Fayetteville Tech for Fall 2016? I'm trying to see about where I might stand...what is the max number of points we can have towards admission (including the 15 bonus points we can get at the information session)...is it 95?

I would buy a study guide book- a couple of them come with online practice tests- score them to see where your weaknesses are and then read up on those topics. I felt like the actual teas test was easier than the practice tests I took.

I agree, the TEAS was much easier than the prep books and practice tests. I would focus on the whichever area you feel you need extra help. I studied a lot of science and didn't really worry about the rest.

I got an 84 without studying. I wouldn't sweat it. If anything just do like they said above...take a practice test and go over what you're weak on.

How did it go???? What was it like?

It was fine. It takes about 2 hours. They just say hi, give you a 10 question math test, go briefly over class schedule, tell you they will cover the immunization stuff at the mandatory orientation June 30th, they tell you to kiss your life goodbye for 2 years, and that the orientation will be much more detailed. They let you ask questions. We won't know if we're in for another month basically, but she said there were 120 qualified applicants and *usually* they let 100 in, but they don't know if they will have that many seats or not...so basically not everyone who applied will get in like they did last year. I just hate it's more waiting.

What was on the math test? I can't believe they might not let in 100. That is the number they gave at the info session. I was actually starting to feel calm about everything, now I am just stressed out again. I am just ready to know! It's crazy how long this process has taken.

Fall sections have come out- this is what's listed for the first Nursing class:

Nur 111-0002 8 credits

Classroom: Monday Thursday 8-9:50am

Lab: Monday 10-12:30, 1-430

Clinical: Wednesday 7-1130, 12-130 cape fear

Nur 111-0001 8 credits

Classroom: Monday, Thursday 8-9:50

Lab: Thursday 10-12:30, 1-430

Clinical: Tuesday 7am-1130, 12-1:30 cape fear

I saw this about a week ago, does it still have it listed as 30 for each group?

I can't believe we still have like 3 weeks of waiting. I'm so torn between FTCC and wake...I thought I was decided on wake, but the schedule is so much better at FTCC. I'm so ready to know if we're in or not. Iy's ridiculous it's taking this long.

How far do you live from each school and the hospitals they go to? If it's a big difference, I'd go with the shorter drive. My info session is tomorrow and I'm so excited!! Was the math quiz hard?

The drive is the same both ways. It's really going to come down to what schedule I want and if it's really that big of a deal that wake is a better program than FTCC. The math test is only 10 questions, but it wasn't hard...it's just basic math. As long as you've taken a math course before, you're fine.

I am not sure if the lengthy wait time is normal for nursing programs but I have had friends go through 2 and 4 years programs and they are always really surprised when I tell them I am still waiting to find out. I applied in early December, so almost half a year?!? I agree the waiting game is getting very frustrating. I have my info session tomorrow and I feel like from your description it's just more information to prolong the process. I just want to know if I am accepted or not.
