FSW Fall 2015

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who is being a rebel :sneaky:

Lol we are not the only ones. There is 5 of us being rebel in part time. Lol

I signed up for Monday's both classes and the Tuesday classes.

Different times with different professors perhaps. But basically its the same class.

I registered for my classes but I feel guilty since email hasnt went out yet. Lol

I don't feel guilty lol. FSW is terribly slow and behind the ball when it comes to anything. We were told we would be notified when status changes went out and we weren't. We gotta do what we gotta do. Worst case scenario, we are told to drop the classes until told to do so. If that doesn't happen, well then I'm happen I'm one of the ones (including you guys) that are on top of things and made sure I got the classes, times and clinical that worked best. So, don't feel bad. We're doing what we gotta do..

I agree Anthony and you make a great point.

In our case as part time we dont have clinicals yet. However, I was told they pick your clinical for you so mostly you will have to drop that course. But they could have changed things. Lol

The clinical is a class that we have to register for. They actually even said we have to pick it and sign up and register, so I did just that. I really hope we have discretion to choose because any other hospital/time would be a MAJOR inconvenience for me. But, I am just glad I am on top of it like you guys are because waiting around for FSW is a game I don't want to deal with.

Thats good to know. In the past they have told students which clinical to register for.

And yes FSW is slow and I hate the waiting game, too. So if we can take matters in her hands and speed things up then its a good thing.

So I found my blood work from my pregnancy in 2009. It says rubella immune. So does that mean I dont need that titer?

So far I need varicella titer (I had chicken pox so I know I dont need shots) and TB test, flu shot and TDap.

My status (registration) was just changed to Nursing! Ya! Regarding the scrubs...thethey have a location in cape off pine island near carrabas

I went around those shopping centers and couldn't find any uniform/scrubs store. Lol

Can you tell me which shopping center it is or at least what's next to it besides carrabas? Thank you so much. :)

I spoke to the nursing advisor at Charlotte that said just because there is the documented infection doesn't mean that we would be immune and they require the titer. I'm just not taking any chances of not getting in come August, so I'm doing them all.
