I worry about that. Is it hard for new grads to find jobs in this area?

I personally plan on NOT staying in FL. Maybe long enough to get a BSN, then I'm out to explore other living options! I have lived in SWFL long enough. :***:

I dont plan on leaving swfl anytime soon. I am imagining it wont be hard finding a job. A friend who has a friend in FSW said she landed a job before graduation and some of her classmates did, too.

Remember an impression lasts a lifetime. So as nursing student, we have to always perform our best because you never know who is watching.

If you want to work at the hospital, you have to have at least 2+ years of experience, for most areas with a few exceptions. Nurse internships are a great way to gain experience. I think I may have seen a couple RN openings for Lee Memorial Health Systems that require less than 2 years of experience.

I personally do not mind working in a nursing home or allied health. I will work whatever I am given oppurtunity except peds, I can't handle it. My dream position as a nurse would be in the cardio floor. When I did clinical for nursing assistant, I loved cardio floor for EKG portion and I knew that was the job I wanted. However, it will take years of experience to be considered but I will get there.

What would be your dream nursing position?

Hospice care

@ Mami you never know my sister landed cardiac telemetry straight out of school and ICU after a couple more years. that was at NCH here in Naples. she graduated from Edison.

I loved learning cardio in A&P II! I did my term project/presentation on the cardiovascular system - focused on CHF.

Pediatric oncology has always been where I wanted to be. That's definitely years down the road, but that's my dream.

I'm not sure what specialty I would consider yet! I'm a person who likes to have a lot of things going on at once. I love excitement. I suppose I will figure that out later down the road. I can think of so many specialties I would like, but I suppose one day I'll find something that I get attached too. I can tell you one day I would like to go to graduate school. We'll see though. I'm trying to just focus on short term goals right now:)

I work on the cardiac floor at Health Park and it is pretty exciting!
