FSW Fall 2015

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

Lmao SafetySam. So true, I have my own kids that bug me when there's a special event counting down days. I always say stop being impatient, it will be here before we know it and it won't come faster. Why cant I follow my own advice?

I now remember what it was like when I was a kid asking are we there yet?!

:lol2: yes!

I emailed her back right now. She said it was well over 200 applications turned in. :( I think I am out for sure then.

So do you think it's a total of 200 or 200 just for Lee?

Its over 200, she said for all the campuses total.

200+ indicates to me, less than 300. Lee FT is 48 seats, Lee PT is 48 seats. Collier takes 48 for their FT.... So far that's 144 seats avail for just Lee and Collier. Add Charlotte and that's 192 seats for all three campuses. If collier does PT program that makes 240 seats with 200+ applicants....That's not too bad of a number actually. And there's also the applications included in that figure for those applying for transitions--12 seats for lee transitions and 12 seats for collier transitions... I'd say all of our chances are still pretty good, it depends on the scores of those applicants. Crossing fingers and toes for all of us 👍

Jgosch, she didnt say 200+. I mentioned, I hope a lot isn't too much over 200. And she replied its well over 200.

Btw Charlotte is 24 spots not 48 so it would be 168 adding 12 transitions from Lee and Collier each then total is 198. And unfortunately Collier doesnt have part time.

Regardless, 198 spots we still have a great chance. But I just want to know how much applicants specifically. They should be able to tell us by now.

Sorry, been reading this through an app. I misunderstood. Either way, I agree. Obviously the RN program will be very competitive at the entry level... Much more applicants vs seats available but I'm hoping all you guys get in 😉 Too bad there's not a way to really predict our chances. I have no barometer whatsoever to gauge my chances of getting into transitions since there isn't anyone on this Fall's thread that has mentioned that they're applying for it. I'm hoping that I make it this cycle and I'm crossing my fingers for all of you also. 👍

Thanks girl. I am sure you will get in. From what I hear there isn't much transitions especially since they put a limit of 5 years of earning degree. So you will get in. Hey, take that there is no other transitions as a good sign.

I loved that breakdown. It made me feel a little better.

Ohhhhh I didn't think of it that way! Thanks!!! I sure hope that's what it means lol!

I really do want you guys to get in.... lol I'd be mad if one of you guys didn't make this cycle

This has been so nerve-racking, I feel like we should all go out and get a drink together  trying to get into RN school gives all a common goal. I can't talk too much about this to other people- I feel like they don't get it and get tired of hearing my obsessive ranting about it lol

Had a missed call yesterday afternoon from an unknown number......had to call it back.....they dialed the wrong number : (
