I will be done with my prereqs for nursing by the end of this spring 2011. However, my cumulative GPA right now is a 3.0 flat. I'm trying to get it up. According to the school websites, FSU & UCF both have a min of 3.0 but I hear they only accept 3.5 & higher. I know its extremely competitive but is their really no hope for me? I also need to take the TEAS test. Is that test super hard & is there any good books to buy to prepare for it? Thanks!

I'm looking into these schools as well and am in the same boat. I have a 3.16 GPA as of now and will be done with my prereqs spring 2011 and I'm worried about the same thing. I know most schools accept students with a 3.5+ and I don't have that right now. I'm sure there's other things that come into play like your essay, community involvement, etc. I'm also taking the TEAS in November so I'm nervous about that as well. I would contact the school of nursing and see what they recommend or browse on this site and see what others are saying.

I am in the same boat as you guys... Well i am graduating in the spring of 2012... I applied to fsu already... they accept applications a year before your entrance term. I did and i sent them my college transcripts... now they have to recheck it when i finished my pre-re on 2012. After that they calculate my GPA and forward my application to the nursing school.. So my recommendation is to apply now, since they can close applications in the middle of next year or whenever they want. They check the quality of applicants and from that they are allow to close application process before the deadline. So keep focus on that i called them and they told me to send them my high school transcripts.. :) any question contact me here :)
