FSCJ SPRING 2015

Hello, everyone!

Since no one has started a Spring 2015 for FSCJ Nursing, I thought I would start it. I plan on applying the beginning of September I will take the exam in august. I'm very nervous of course. I have a preq gpa of 2.87 but I have an overall gpa of 3.23. Has anyone heard that FSCJ has changed their entrance exam to the HESI A2? Anyone applying to FSCJ hoping to get accepted for the spring?

Are the day classes at the Deerwood campus as well or just the night classes?

Only the nights/weekends classes are at Deerwood. Days are still at the North campus.

Did y'all specify what you wanted on the application? I didn't. I just figured they give the nights seats to those who was it, in descending order

I called the nursing office to ask about the nights weekends people and how they would be chosen and she said she would probably just call the top 35 people and offer it to them and so on.

Okay great! Thanks taynell92. I am hoping for nights :)

I turned my application in on the 1st as well with a score of 180.6. Don't stress too much because there is always the summer semester. I'm trying to completely focus on my micro class so I won't worry about the nursing so much. The lady.at the front said they have not had nearly as many applicants this time. Let's all keep each other updated and positive thinking. Wish yall all the best of luck!

I would imagine that it may have a little to do with them requiring Chemistry now to apply. I hope it all works out in our favor! Good luck to everyone!

Idk cuz technically we have to at least be enrolled in microbiology to apply and we have to have taken chemistry first anyway. So no telling :/

I dont care what the reason is :p when you posted that there were not nearly as many people applying is gave me more hope of getting in! I hope we all get in!

My score is a 180.6 too but with Micro. I made the mistake of taking Micro and A&P 1 at the same time.

Does anyone know if work is still feasible if you get accepted for night classes? I've heard that the nursing program period is such a heavy workload it's impossible to work. Any suggestions or thoughts?

From what I was told people do work full-time jobs while in the program. It is doable for sure. The first term is four classes including pharm. There are rumors that the class load is changing in January but, we will not know until we go to orientation. The best thing I could suggest if you can take a term or two off or lessen your hours than it maybe less stressful but, if you can't than just set aside specific time to study. The good thing is it is only four terms, 16 months, and that is just such a short time in the scheme of life.
