i hate to keep complaining, but i really need to vent. this is going to be kind of long, so bare with me please.
i finished school 12/13, but have to wait until 1/23 before my application can go to the state. i had been offered a job months ago and keep having to push my start date back.
i just found out from the recruiter at work the the PA BON takes a while to process paperwork, he said expect a 2-3 week wait period. i sent off for my GN so that I can start work in FEB, but I need to recieve it by feb5 in order to start. i can always start in march, but i am so annoyed that i have finished school and am not using my degree and still working as a NA.
I am also worried that my application for my RN wont work out in a timely manner. if i have to start work in March, i would reeally want to have already passed boards. but with my slow BON, who knows!
To add more, drama... i just found out today that my nurse manager is resigning. she will be leaving in 3 weeks. my position is in the PACU and its rare for a new grad to start there, but my manager thinks i am capable. i am so worried that my offer will be revoked because, she will be gone, i dont have a start date, GN license, or anything.
this is all so stessful and super annoying. i feel like everything is out of my hands. i have no idea when I will receive my GN or ATT. I have no idea when I will take boards! i just want to run away! i thought things would work out smoothly for me because I had already had a job lined up. i just dont know what to do. i really cant do anything but wait, and thats whats killing me. the waiting and the what ifs!!!!!
thanks for listening guys. i can really use some assurance, adivce, similar stories, anything.

I completely understand! But in my case, my school does not send transcripts in until February 8th!! Can you believe that?? A student from a local nursing school took his boards last week, I am so jealous
Thanks for the response. it sucks that you have to wait too.

So glad to hear that you got thru your program, that is always a step in the right direction.
Many that actually post here have some of the same issues that you have been going thru, and some states no longer issue a temporary or interim permit so they need to pass the NCLEX and have their results before they can work.
If this manager had this much faith in you, I am sure that you will do just fine.
Please keep us posted on how things work out for you.:balloons:
