  1. I just got hired into my hospitals OB unit and am looking for a good labor delivery/pp pocket book- I searched this forum and the one that EVERYONE recommended (Labor and delivery in my pocket) is out of print! And that is exactly the type of thing I was looking for . Any other suggestions, it would be much appreciated! (I already have some bigger texts, I am specifically looking for a small pocket book)- thanks in advance!
  2. After 12 weeks of orientation I am finally on my own- just finishing up my second week on my own actually. In the past 2 nights I have worked, I have had a patient each night just burst into tears. I have gone home each day feeling so bad because I just did not know how to comfort them. I keep wondering what I could have said to make things just a little bit better for them. Man, I thought it was hard talking to doctors and keeping on schedule! I know there are no "magic words" you can say to make things "all better" but are there any kind words you have found to help in such a situation?
  3. I was close with two other classmates in my nursing program as well. We had even hung out quite a few times outside of classes and I thought they were wonderful people. We were in almost every class & clinical together. I was scheduled to take my exit exam the day before them. I passed the exam so of course I called them right afterwards (I actually had a missed call from one of the girls during the test wondering how I did and if I was out yet). I called her and we had a pleasant conversation. Later that night, I recieved a extremely rude email from one girl because she was mad I did not tell her everything I remember from the exit exam. I called and she did not pick up and left her 2 messages. She later emailed me back with another rude email. I called the other girl we were friends with and she hung up on me. That was over a month ago and I haven't seen or heard from either since. For a while I was really torn up about it because I was getting to be very close with the girls and I know that I had not done anything wrong. But my husband pointed out to me that it was better I found out early on that they weren't the people I thought they were. I know it is hard, but just think of all the wonderful people that are in you life and are supporting you 100%! I know it is hard but I hope you can realize as I did that you don't deserve having people in your life who treat you so badly!
  4. I completely understand! But in my case, my school does not send transcripts in until February 8th!! Can you believe that?? A student from a local nursing school took his boards last week, I am so jealous
