From Toronto to Calgary

Hello fellow nurses,

I currently work in one of the big hospitals here in Toronto part time and is thinking of moving to Calgary to look for better opportunities. Can anybody tell me hows the job market in Calgary and how is it living there as compared to Toronto?

Thank you fellow nurses.

Oil prices are down. Government projecting a huge deficit.

You might get casual in a hospital/LTC/agency.

No guaranteed hours, no benefits.

Unless you have super specialized skills, I doubt you'll land a job on a phone interview.

Internal applicants are always considered first and they are having challenges finding permanent lines. Unless you have 6 months of savings that you can afford to play with, do not move without an offer.
