Stars hope the packing went well

Ado happy anniversary

NJ22 sounds like a fun time

Yesterday started off difficult, I started nearly an hour early, and it took me an hour to go over everything that was done while I was out and a fairly heavy workload. Was afraid I'd have to cut lunch short and work late, but things went well and I didn't have to do either one. Helped that a meeting yesterday was rescheduled. After work was fairly quiet, just exercised

Today the workload should be considerably lighter, although I will have to work on the side project. After work should be pretty quiet too, just exercise.

Going to be cooler today, in the upper 60s

I've been awake for quite a while and have been on-line and on the phone trying to get things straightened out. It seems since I had my bank with the debit card change my address, I have had to chase down the calls I've made with orders (like paying PODS) to change my billing address because the card will be declined, otherwise. YIKES! What a PIA, but I am glad that I have straightened things out. (I think! I hope!)

I have to get dressed now, it is time, as it is now a little bit after 12 NOON, and it is high time I did so. Not sure if I will be able to take Tinker out once I AM clothed, since it has been and may still be raining, and she won't go out in the rain!

I also need another cup of coffee post haste! I didn't get a heck of a lot of packing or cleaning up done yesterday because I got snagged reading some of my poetry and journals, probably for about 2+ hours. So I have to bag and box some more and not let myself get distracted!

Let us PRAY!!!

Book club was enjoyable and I'm glad I went. There were some delicious-looking baked goods available but I stayed low-carb and had brisket tacos (but didn't eat the tortillas).

Our little community's fireworks will be tonight (apparently they save money on the display and find it easier to schedule food trucks and such if they don't do it on the weekend of the 4th). Hubs and I might go. Twin A will be working and Twin B will be sleeping in preparation for working.

Tomorrow I meet my friend D for lunch. I am thinking of going to Norman early to do "water walking" at the pool there. If I get busy tonight, I could drop some things at Goodwill while I am there, too. But I might not get busy on that if we go to the fireworks display.

Monday I am scheduled for my annual visit to the retina specialist. Twin A has agreed to drive me. Even if they only dilate one eye, I am past the point where I want to drive myself home in that condition (it is on the other side of Oklahoma City). The day in 2019 when I went there and learned about the retinal detachment, and had laser retinopexy, I had driven myself. Not again.

Then I received a letter saying it was time to schedule my mammogram, so I scheduled that for Monday as well. I'll do that before going back home to get Twin A to drive me to the eye appointment. He and I can get a good lunch somewhere.

And sometime over Sat/Sun/Mon I must visit the laundromat again. I don't object too much because I can get multiple loads done all at one time. Still, maybe by next weekend my washer will be functional again. Or replaced 🤣

Saturday is stepson's birthday. Sunday would be my dad's 100th birthday!

Yesterday's plans got messed up because our pickup was acting weird. The electronic codes were weird, then it wouldn't start. A fellow camper helped to jump it, we drove to a NAPA store which refused to check the battery unless it was carried into the store, but we had no tools. So we drove to a recommended mechanic who was able to check the alternator. That was fine. So youngest ds bought a small socket set and disconnected the negative pole on the battery. That reset the electronics and now everything is fine, we hope. We'll get it into our mechanic when we get home. All that took the Morning and early afternoon. So we had a nice, late lunch/early dinner and went to bed early. Today is rainy, so it's a reading and snacking kind of day.

I actually DID accomplish something today! I wrapped up my (almost entire) collection of little boxes, in tissue paper and bubble-wrap, and they are all secure within a sturdy TORO Tequila box that my SiL had brought over from the ABC Store 2-3 weeks ago. It took me about 2 + 1/2 hours! I coulda done more packing, but I didn't. But tomorrow I WILL get more tasks of packing accomplished! I still gotta go down into the shed and prowl around to find some of the things I REALLY, REALLY want to take with me, but have not seen in many years. I hope those things aren't et-up by mice or ruined by cold or heat or rain or mildew. It is supposed to get HOTTER than the hinges of Hades tomorrow, so maybe I can do that early before it gets as wicked as it is supposed to. The POD people said (on-line) that there has to be a clearance of 14 feet; well the branches on the trees will probably not be a problem, but I'm not too sure if the electric lines that run over part of the driveway are high enough, and I sure don't know what to do about that! I guess I will just pray, because I don't know if I can get in touch with the electric company over the weekend to raise them; maybe they'll be willing to tell me on Monday if it is a possibility, or someone will come over to use a long pole to raise them when the POD arrives on Tuesday. It will really upset me if the POD drivers say they can't drop the POD in the driveway! KEEP YER FINGERS CROSSED EVERYBODY! THANK YOU!

Joe, I hope it wasn't as difficult Friday.

J22, glad you got the car running and hope your aches and pains are better.

Stars, hope the POD was delivered and you got stuff done.

Ado, hope you get to "water walk" today.

It's Pride weekend and my employer walked to the units and passed out Pride flags and pins to those of us who wanted them and wished us happy pride. It was refreshing to see my employer continue to support Pride here in deep red Florida where people are insulted by Pride. There was no pearl clutching on my unit that I could see. I won't be going to any events because it's at night to escape some of the heat and I'm working Sunday. I'll miss the events on Sunday. I presume it's going to continue to be the largest Pride event in Florida. Not bad for little old St. Petersburg, considering Fort Lauderdale and Miami have tons more queer people there.

Friday they pulled a nurse and everyone had a busy rough day. It's too bad we're in this situation but people are getting sick and many are on vacations. A tech called off at 7:50 saying she was having car trouble. Really? You hadn't even left home and your shift started and at that time discovering you have car trouble.

I'm doing good just checking my email and staying off of social media except here. I watched some TV during dinner and read myself to sleep. But it's only been a couple of days and bad habits are hard to break.

Best friend was having some hip pain and he feared another fracture like we went through a few years ago. They told him it was bone on bone arthritis but ordered an MRI. No plans for anything yet, a shot in the future should it get bad and perhaps a hip replacement later on down the line. He's also seeing another doctor from some back pain and what might be a lipoma near his spine and another MRI there. He's having some PT and generally doing well.
