Dianah I would second Tweety's suggestion, I have used Geek Squad in the past

Ado Bleu is 5, yesterday his appetite was more normal. He was very active on Wed so that may be why he was hungrier. His activity level was more normal yesterday

Stars I think your instincts may be right, his isn't a good provider

Tweety glad work was good

Yesterday was another fairly good day at work. Not too much to do, no new cases, no one off, easily had time to do the side project and get everything else done

Stopped at the watch shop after work as the battery was finally replaced, exercised and that was about it. Found out my sister got her power back on, finally, although not sure if my friend B has power yet, as of Tuesday he didn't

Today no side project at work and a light schedule, should be easy if I don't get any new cases. Though I do have 2 short meetings today

Will be about the same as yesterday, up to 80, rain and storms expected this afternoon

Aside from gathering all the trashbags so I can get them into the newly emptied trash bins FIRST (as in 'first come, first served') I have also remade my bed and cleaned one of the two sinks in the bathroom. Now it is past time to get dressed and take poor li'l Tinker outside. That's pretty much all I have planned, and the rest of it is on an "whatever I feel like doing____" schedule. Maybe go out and buy some milk, too. And I guess I could put in one pile all the driver's license requirement documents so I can call on Monday and make a "New Resident Appointment".

Flow-read-ah continues to be an odd state in which to live, hence my current life 'style".

Hubs' ex-wife (mother of my stepkids) died yesterday. I think I had told y'all that she had stage 4 lung cancer. Only 63. Depending on what the kids and her husband decide about her service, either Hubs will fly up there for that or we will plan to go spend time with the kids and grands later this year. We have made a lot of funeral trips back to Indiana.

Today is overcast though so far no rain. The clouds have kept the temp down but we're still expected to get up to 102 by late afternoon. The church was opening a cooling center because there was a heat warning but since that has been lifted the decision was made to shut it down for today.

My weekend plans involve continuing the work on Twin A's room. I've been working through the laundry we collected from it last week and both guys seriously need to weed out things they can't or won't wear. I also hope to finish the book I'm reading which was recommended by a friend. It is The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett, who wrote The Help. This author is really good at conveying a sense of injustice (enough to justify a poop pie, I guess 💩) so we'll see where this goes.

I learned that apparently the clinic where we've all gone for years does not respond to requests from the pharmacy for refills. That explains a lot but why we didn't know this before now I don't understand. Sometimes I do think about switching to a provider closer to home (this clinic is 18 miles away -- was very close to the place we were renting before my mother died and we moved here to take care of Dad).

Ado, sorry to hear about the step-kids' mom's death. 63 is young. :( I'm SMH about the clinic not responding to the pharmacy's requests for refills. Really?? Seems that is an IMPORTANT, INTEGRAL, ESSENTIAL part of running a clinic -- to respond to the patients' needs. Will be interested to see what further information you find out.

Hello Joe and No Stars, and everyone else who stops by.

It is hot, hot, HOT here. It was probably 90 last night when I went out to throw some trash in the bin -- Oh, I'd say around 10:30pm. Dh was out at 0830 with the dog, and said it was starting to warm up then. There are HUGE monsoon clouds over the mountains. In weather like this I'm always glad we have the little fountain in the front yard, and that dh has kept it working for so many years. It is very much used by many birds, and sometimes at night it is visited by some sort of mammal who washes things and rearranges the rocks.

When I got up, I got ready and went to the grocery store for a few things for dh, and for supplies to make another variation of lentil soup. After lunch I made that. I gave dh a taste, and he liked it. So we have some soup in the freezer and now we will have the lentil soup/stew, probably three meals' worth.

We have no plans for the weekend. We have cancelled going to the November festival at Carlsbad, as dh will be in the throes of treatment for bilateral, multi-finger trigger releases. One hand at a time, and probably four weeks inbetween getting the other hand done. He hopes this will give him more movement, is not expecting 100% NEW fingers, just some improvement over the old ones (knowing his arthritis may still interfere with movement).

That's it for now! Have a nice evening and weekend!

Good evening.

Ado, condolences to your step children's mother passing young.

Work was a little more hectic today but they let me keep all staff so that was nice for a change. Of course at 7pm after everyone's in report they decide to pull a night shift tech. Very annoying.

My former doctor's office was terrible at responding to pharmacies. My doc just gave me his person cell phone and asked me to text him when I needed something. My current doc is great and her response time to my requests for refills has always been same day.

Stars, I don't think I've had a provider tell me what "I must do", but tell me what they are recommending and I have the choice to take it or go against medical advice. I'm sure if I went the AMA route often they wouldn't like that. I have pretty much followed advice...taking the BP med was a big one for me, getting hernia surgery and what not. I sometimes have to get out of my own head and medical knowledge and listen. But I also expect to be listened to. I got put on Trazadone because I suggested it. Thankfully, I'm not a sickly person generally but the last two years have been a challenge. LOL. I fired a dentist once because I didn't like the way he did an implant and once made me wait an hour.

I'm off tomorrow. Having my creole spaghetti (whole wheat noodles) and it's really good. I'm glad I can eat carbs without guilt. LOL
