Tweety glad work was mostly OK

NJ22 always feels good to get taxes done

Stars I hope today proves less difficult, I wonder if she's starting to decline

Work was pretty good yesterday, for some reason nothing to do for the side project

Over lunch the cat sitter came by to drop off the keys and say goodbye to the cat. She may also come for the euthanasia, if her schedule allows

I talked to the regular vet and the euthanasia is scheduled for tomorrow morning.  He's concerned she may begin to decline more rapidly and doesn't want her to begin suffering

The evening was pretty quiet, was the sole usher for the Maundy Thursday service at church, had fewer than a dozen people

Today should be OK at work, although I will be helping cover for a coworker who is out.  Will give the cat one last dose of the steroid as per the vet, just to see if by some miracle that makes a difference.  Will attend Good Friday service at church tonight

Will be cooler today, in the low 60s, thankfully no rain expected

Joe, so sorry your cat has not rallied.  I will be thinking of you.  It's touching that the sitter will be there too.  Hugs to you.

Joe, I agree with dianah's post. I'm sorry for you, having to put your cat down. I forget how old she is and how long you've had her. Not that it makes me (or you!) feel any better about what you both are having to go through, but I'm just curious.

Tinker slipped the harness when I took her out, and she tore off to the yard across the street, but went left instead of to the right, and fortunately a neighbor 2 doors down  to the left has a fenced carport for their dog, and the gate was open (no dog out there), so Tinker was curious and went in under their carport. I just stood at the gate and nabbed her when she came toward me. WHEW! I know she just LOVES to run wide open, but it freaks me out when she takes off like that. Fortunately there was no traffic on the road, and I caught her before she tore off elsewhere!

The therapist came for Nannie's HH visit. SiL was here so I just lolled in bed and played possum. After the PT left, SiL came up to my room and said that when she got Nannie up, she was ....well. she didn't say "vacant", but she used a gesture where she was passing her hand in front of her own face, which indicated the same thing. Said she couldn't get her to do much of anything and certainly Nannie couldn't understand about getting into the walk-in shower, (which actually made me happy to hear). But she also said that Nannie did very well with the therapist. Oh goody. Anyway I guess the PT will be back next week, either Tuesday or Thursday, maybe?  SiL's suggestion was not to give Nannie "too much Tylenol." Oh shoot, and I was going to make her some Tylenol stew and a Tylenol pie for supper! ?

I can't believe it is already 3 PM! By the way, I DID do the dishes before I went to bed last night, and we didn't get upstairs for Tinker's bedtime snack until 11:30 PM! There are THINGS, as usual, I SHOULD do, but I am not very hopeful I'll get'em done today. Not only Nannie's laundry, but mine, too,

And the ivory colored down-comforter of mine is graced with many spots of Tinker's "I'm-in-heat" blood, but I am not going to wash it until she stops leaving those spots on it!  A healthy dose of H202 soaking is good for disappearing most of the blood spots, and a thorough washing in both laundry detergent with a generous addition of spot treatment helps. I need a new comforter anyway, because it is still losing the down from the corners of each square...but nowhere it can be sewn up to stop the losses. But a new comforter can wait a while longer. Will definitely need a new one if the weather ever goes back to seasonal temps by the Fall. It's been in the 80's the last few days, so the A/C is on. But we have had roller-coaster temps for months now, so who knows if or when the weather will straighten out. (Probably never!) I once ordered a comforter that contained silk as a filler. It sounded good, but in reality, after one wash the filling clumped up together and could not be encouraged to become fluffy again. So even with stray down feathers floating around and collecting on anything and everything, I'm staying with a down comforter that is a "3-season" cover.

Even though Nannie ignored me when I came downstairs after SiL left. She had her eyes closed, and was frowning and her lips were pursed, so I didn't force her to acknowledge my presence. But now she IS asleep (yay!)

Nannie very well may be going more downhill now, and I don't think Tylenol is responsible for all of her vacancy and the fact that she doesn't really hear or compute what you say to her, even with many repetitions of instructions. OH WELL-OH WELL-OH WELL! To ME it indicates a need to be in a nursing home, but I have no say-so until that occurs to SiL that it would be the best thing for ALL of us!

And so it goes....

Good evening.

Joe, sorry about what you're going through with your cat.

When I went to church Maundy Thursday was sparsely attended but Easter Sunday was packed.  We always wondered where were these people the rest of the year.

Dianah, glad the colonoscopy went well the other day.

They pulled a nurse and gave me patients.  It was busy.  Stayed late to help a night nurse hang blood and deal with a blood sugar of 39.  I'm a bit annoyed the night charge didn't come check on her as my shift was over and I stayed to help her because I'm just that way.

Anyway, off for three days.

Wishing you peace, Joe.

My little girl dog, Jozee, didn't come back in this morning, even after calling and calling. We have a fenced backyard, but I thought the gate must have been left open. So I hurriedly got dressed, grabbed her leash, and met her at the door. I suspect she found something to eat that she shouldn't have, because she vomited up her breakfast. There were no other signs of illness, taking water fine. She just ate dinner, so I hope that stays down.

I've been washing the thick fleece blankets we use in the evening. I spilled coffee on one, and the other was smelling like a dog, it was time! Only one at a time fits in the washer. And I washed the big table cloth from the master gardener booth we used Wednesday , that got wet and muddy. And I 'very been working on the newsletter. I've been dabbling with AI to help write. As I long as I say I'm the editor, not the writer, that's okay, right?

Our heat is barely on. I turn it on in the morning to chase the chill, and turn it off around 4 pm. Dh leaves doors and windows open all the time, so there's no point in keeping the heat on.

Isn't it weird when family gives us medical advice. I just smile and say "good to know."

I guess I didn't mention how Nannie tried to eat her folded napkin as if it were a sandwich, and later tried to cut it with the side of her fork to break it down into pieces she could stab with the fork times. She also had problems with her spoon; if she got some food on her spoon, she had to put her fingers on the food while it was on its way to her mouth because, guess what! Tipping the spoon sideways doesn't hold the food until you get it in your mouth. HUH!
