  1. Thank you very very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. What I did also to pass boards: Well other than eat, sleep and dreamt about it. I did the following; 1. I did Kaplan course- Completed all the Q bank questions and the Question trainer. My % scores wasn't that great. 2. I did content on Saunders CD 3. I brought Saunders Flashcards it is in a blue book and I took a portion with me anywhere I went because you never know, when you will have a minute. In traffic, waiting on someone, at work downtime. In the restroom you name it. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS, SO DON'T LET IT SLIP AWAY 4.I also brought Skyscape Lippincott NCLEX questions on my PDA phone and did all the Post test and some content questions also. So I had no excuse. 5. I also used Fryes 5000 bullet points 6. I read Kaplan book, because it is an easy read 7. I read nursing made incredibly easy book and that is pretty good book, because it had alot of comparison of diseases in table like forms. 8. Then when I was driving in my car, I listened to NCLEX content review tapes for Nursing made incredibly easy. These tapes were provided by my teacher. Excellent auditory review. In summary, the key to passing boards is understanding what you are learning not memorizing because the questions are ridiculously worded! But if you understand that you can only put on a pair of shoes one way and that is on your feet, it does not matter what COLOR they throw at you. Believe in your self and dont second guess yourself. If I can do it, so can you! I would like to thank allnurses.com this site is an awesome resource.

  5. I Passed Boards!!! Thanks For All Your Support!!!!
  6. Yes I will be able to find out tomorrow at 8 a.m.
  7. I took boards yesterday and I got 170 questions and I am so very worried, I can sleep or think properly without thinking about not passing or passing.
  8. I would appreciate if someone can give me some highlights on their core function.
  9. I am sorry to hear that you did not pass. It is a tough class you know. I almost did not make it either. But somehow ended up with a B. Other than my textbooks, I brought tons of other books at Borders and Barnes and Nobles. But each book tEND to describe the material in a different way, even though the content is the same. Then I did alot of practice questionS. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I FOLLOWED THE OBJECTIVES, ONCE I LOOKED OVER THE OBJECTIVE I MADE SURE I UNDERSTOOD IT, THAT HELPED ME ALOT. ALSO I STOPPED TRYING TO MEMORIZE EVERYTHING ONLY IF IT IS A NUMBER OR SOMETHING AND I FOCUSED ON UNDERSTANDING. READING THE MATERIAL AS IF MY PATIENT WAS RIGHT THERE AND I WAS TRYING TO SOLVE A PROBLEM. I too had failed NS, this is my second time around. You can do it, even if it means having to go to another school. You can still meet your goal. At first I was in a community college system, when I didnt pass that, I converted my associate degree into a Bachelors degree and now I am in accelerated program getting my BSN instead of a Associate. So I know you have to feel sad and "possiblly feel like a failure" I have been there. Just see it as an opportunity to determine where you went wrong and hopefully never to repeat that again. Try to identify how best you can study and retain the info. be it with groups, flashcards or by yourself. BUT YOU CAN DO IT, I KNOW YOU CAN!! DONT GIVE UP AT ALL. :nono::nono::nono::nono:

  13. You know when you are nursing school when: 1. you are reading flashcards during traffic 2. When everyone calls you and ask what you are doing, you say "Studying" 3. When someone ask you what are you doing this weekend, you say "Studying" 4. When all your dreams are about exams and quizzes, papers that are due 5. When your four year-old says "all you do is studying" 6. When your four year-old says " I am doing my home-work I cannot bathe right now" 7. When you ask four people for a 4:30 a.m. wake-up call, in case you dont hear your own alarm-dont want to miss clinical
  14. I read that we should not administer dgoxin if HR is less than 60 and you should also check the pulse for one full minute. Why is that when..diogoxin is to increase your Heart contracility..why should it matter if HR is low. I am not making a connection, please advise
