Foreign Trained - RN to MSN programs

Any other Australian nurses out there study at graduate level in US?

I am frustrated. I have a hard earned Bachelor of Nursing degree that has been demoted to diploma level here in US, owing to the fact that we have 3 year degrees, not 4 year degrees (our system is like the European one.) I really want to go to grad school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I am really irritated that I might need to do two semesters of english lit and history before proceeding to graduate level study!!!

Any other foreign trained RNs out there have experience with getting into grad school here?

I'm not foreign trained and don't know if that presents any special barriers for grad school, but there are some MSN programs (including NP programs) in the US that don't require a BSN, that take nurses with diplomas or associate's degrees (the extra BSN-specific nuring content is built into the program).
