Hi.Are there any foreign nurses here from other country? If so,I have a questions for you guys. When you take license exam either RN/LVN,you have to take TOEFL and pass it also?Even though you studied here? Any information is appriciated. Thanks.

check out the international forum and maybe post this question in the thread Questions for Suzanne as I am sure if you trained in the US I think language is waivered, but saying that each BON has their own requirements.

Welcome! We have a forum just for foreign/International nurses. Suzanne4 there is extremely helpful.
BON means Board of Nursing
What means are you legally in the US? ie what visa do you have? reason I ask is if doing LPN training in the US and then using that as a way of immigration I don't think you can do it that way I think you have to be RN for immigration but if in the US through fiance/marriage I think you can do your LPN. A bit more information would be useful for us to advise appropriately.

I'm talking about one of my friend.My friend is from Japan and studied here then try to take exam for LVN. My friend needs TOEFL score?
Each state can set their own requirements, it is state specific. She will need to check with the BON for the state where she wishes to get licensed. But not sure why she is going that route, issue with being able to work in the US with the LPN license, it is not accepted by US immigration for green card.
