Fluid/electrolyte work question

Published

Hi, I'm a nursing student in Missouri and we are working on Fluids/Electrolytes. They gave us a chart that would help us study the different conditions such as Hypovolemia and we can add signs, symptoms, priority nursing diagnosis, nursing interventions, and treatment/nursing interventions. I'm confused between the interventions box and treatment/implications box. They seem like they would be the same answer. Like for hypovolemia my interventions are oral hygiene, monitor cardiac, give fluids, administer IV therapy if needed, and monitor weight, vitals, and I&O. But isn't that also the implications?

The implicatiion should be what the expected result should be: Decrease in symptoms, normal lab levels, etc. The interventions is what you would do to get the expected result.

At least that is how I remembered it from nursing school.
