Anyone ever work at Morton Plant in Clearwater? Experiences? THANK YOU!

I work at Mease Countryside which is part of Morton Plant. Any specific questions? I do MS/Tele and the ratio I have experienced is up to 7:1. Electronic charting but doctors still write paper orders - this is supposed to change next year. I like it. I work through the mobile pool, have been floated several times in the month I have worked there but everyone is very nice and helpful. And the housing for the pool is amazing!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering how the ratios would be... Do you work both days and nights? I have a phone interview tomorrow for M/S position. Currently in Boston but trying to get closer to family for the holidays. Im happy to hear you like it. I've read alot of positive things about the hospital. When I have floated in other hospitals I would float anywhere but Ped's, ER, and ICU-what are your experiences? Im happy to hear about electronic charting, currently hand writing my nursing notes :( Also happy to hear the staff are helpful as Ive had some NOT so travel friendly experiences..:) Thanks again for the reply!

I've only been floated to other ms/tele and also ER hold. I just work nights now. Are you going through the Mobile Pool? Morton Plant is a big hospital and you can see the bay from it. Beautiful area! Good luck with your interview :)

Thank you so much! :) Im with Cross Country Trav corp.

Specializes in ER, ICU, Tele, LTAC, LTC.

I actually live in Clearwater a few blocks from the hospital, but have not worked there (yet?)

I'm currently doing USC in Los Angeles.

Come and enjoy the great beaches, no state income tax, and you don't have to live in St Pete or Tampa!

Specializes in progressive care, respiratory.

I currently work for Baycare and personally don't have many complaints...I havent worked at Morton Plant myself, but did all my clinicals in nursing school there on a cardiac floor and on days the ratio was about 5-6:1. Also, the entire baycare system is mostly electronic, except some MD orders and one page of nursing notes. Personally, I love Tampa, Clearwater and St. Pete and would recommend any Baycare hospital to travelers! The area immediately around Morton Plant is beautiful and the surrounding areas are all nice and theres always something fun to do since the weather is warm!
