What explanation do you give your first time girls who start their menstrual cycle. We have been getting a few girls each month starting in the 4th grade who are starting at school.

    When I was 12, my father told me that what women were singing about on a vitamin commercial was about their first period. To this day I can call up that song and I still wonder why a vitamin commercial lady was singing about periods. And what was my Dad thinking, that it would be comforting? Gosh.

    OK this was in reply to someone singing in their comment...it looks kind of random out on its own, but my point still stands. Don't sing about periods!
