Hello all

Thank you

Do your homework and learn about the history and philosophy of the Mayo Brothers. Weave that into your interview answers and you are in like Flynn.

I would think of how to explain why working there interests you more than working anywhere else. What is it that distinguishes that place for you and what do you think you have to contribute.

Are you interviewing at the Great Mother Mayo in downtown Roch or a satellite facility?

It can be a great place to learn all kinds of things you would only ever read about in text books at other facilities. The interview can be grueling. They expect a lot from applicants.

Rochester isn't bad either. Many of the residents have a "I'm Rochester great" attitude which can get old in a hurry. The whole community has a snooty air about it. I suggest living on the outskirts. I really liked SE MN.

I am interviewing at Rochester, great mother MAYO. They told me its going to be a entire two day thing. First day panel interview, lunch with everyone, and Day two is going to be shadow. Panel interview is what i am kinda nervous about.

Thank you guys for giving your thoughts

The panel is intense. They just start firing clinical scenario questions and other questions. It feels like they are coming from all directions.

I don't know about the interview process there, but I used to work with them about 10 years ago and was told they pay 10% more than market rates, because they want to recruit and retain the best people in their fields. I was impressed by that considering so many other institutions with big names pay less because people will still work there, just for the name on their resume. Good luck with the interview!

Now that is impressive! I was going to ask about pay because I have little respect for the nurses and NPs I know willing to work at a couple of the big names in Baltimore who are known for their insultingly low wages.
