First Job

I graduated in August and got my license in November. I have submitted 100's of apps. Well I got a lead last week. A friend of mines mother works at a digestive specialist and there is an lpn opening. I would be starting ivs or working I the office. I'm not sure which one I will get. I have had 2 interviews and done my physical, drug test, and background check. I should hear something more next week. It's mon-fri 8-5. I am so excited and grateful that my friend let me know of this opening.

Good luck, hope you get one of these jobs soon! I am working at my first "real" LPN job currently. I have been at my job a month and a week, and it's the perfect job for me. I'm working at a dermatology office part time. I'm a wife, and mom of 2, so it really fits my scheduling needs. I landed this job in a similar situation to yours. Our receptionist at the dermatology office used to work with my husband at a different company, and our kids play soccer together. She started working at the dermatology office this past summer. When an opening came available for an LPN position, she told me about it in the Fall at our children's soccer practice. I applied for the job not thinking anything about it, got called for an interview, and was hired! I got my LPN license in '07, but stayed home with my kids most of that time instead of working. I never could find a schedule that met my needs until getting this job. I feel so blessed to have it. I work Mon.-Thurs. and get Fri.-Sun. off! I only work 8 am-3pm! I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for our receptionist who worked with my husband. Sometimes it really is who you know that makes a difference in landing a job! Again, good luck...

Congratulations! It was really nice of your friend to give you a heads up on the job lead. I hope everything goes well.

Thanks everyone! I am pretty confident about it. I wouldn't think they would send me off to get a physical, drug test, background check, and TB test if they weren't serious about hiring me. I'll let you all know when I hear something:)
