Finally...........

Finally got a job after months of applying, interviewing, and 1000 phone calls!!!

I just started at a 100 bed rehab hospital where I had a NS clinical rotation. It is a good place with great people and I am really glad to be there. They hired me for their new brain trauma rehab unit that will be done about the time I come off of orientation. This is a good place to start a career and I am grateful!!!

Here is a helpful hint: if your working 12 hour shifts don't do 3 in a row!! When your brand spankin new there is so much to absorb. By the 3rd day I was really tired and felt that I was getting sloppy, not making good use of my time or working smart (i.e. making multiple trips to clean supply instead of thinking about what I needed for the next 3 pts, etc), charting errors, etc. We are self scheduling and I changed mine where I have 2 days in a row. This way I can digest more, be more efficient, and not have a work hangover on my 1st day off.

I hope you all stay groovy and find jobs soon!!!

Congrats and best wishes!

Congrats! :yeah: I just got my job also. I can't wait to start!!!

Good luck to you!

Congrats! I agree about trying to avoid working 3 - 12 hr shifts in a row. This past week I worked 4 - 12s in a row and I was so exhausted and couldn't think straight. What saved me was that I had the same patients for the last 3 shifts.
