field day

Do you attend in person?  We have our field day split into two sections so the little kids go in the morning and the big kids in the afternoon.  It is held in a park about 1/4 mile from the school.

I am trying to decide if I am going to set up a table down there or not.  Leaning towards no, since 1/2 the school is still going to be on site and that's where all my supplies etc are.  I will send some extra ice packs and bandaids and be on call.

Our field day is at the school, and the whole school is out at the same time, so I set up a chair and bring the essentials down - a cooler with ice packs, antiseptic wipes and bandaids, gloves, and tissues, and then my emergency bag with epi-pens, splinting materials, etc.

I think if I were in your shoes, I would try to think about where I would be most helpful and for my school, that would definitely be at the field day. I would probably let staff know that the Health Office is closed and that if there was a real concern they could call me for instructions and that I could return ASAP for any true emergency.

Are you talking a field trip - where a class goes to the park for lunch and to play?   Or something different?

My school has 5th/6th and 3rd/4th grade track and field day where students do running events, shot put, football throw, long jump, ect.    I always go to that with first aid, ice packs, epi's, ect. and then since it is all day, I get a sub for my office.

On just class field trips, I send a first aid kit with the teachers.
