Feeling confident!

Published

This week wrapped up my second week of nursing school. I've had 4 quizzes (2 were 90%, 2 were 100%). One of the 100%'s was my first dosage calculation quiz where I needed 100% as a passing grade. I was SO NERVOUS this morning before taking it, but I did it!

I know it will obviously get harder, but I just have a great confidence boost from these results so far. I'm very happy. :) And I work hard, dammit! I hope to ride this wave for as long as I can.

First return skills demonstration test for me is on Monday (gastrointestinal), and I will again be extremely nervous. I think I'll always stay in a constant state of nervousness, lol!

Good job! Don't be nervous, you should practice on a friend! thats what we did in our skills lab to prepare for those dreadful skills tests haha. Keep up the good work! and try not to make a habit of being nervous or telling yourself you're nervous, it makes it easier for you to go into panic mode and lose focus. (this will be a big factor on NCLEX day)

Personally, I didn't think it was any harder in the middle or the end than it was at the outset.

Not everybody considered nursing school to be the nightmare that many make it out to be.

It was quite the easiest of the four university programs that I pursued.

I am going to practice on my husband today, lol! I'm sure he's thrilled to have his intestines listened to. ;)

I think that as I complete more tests/demonstrations I'll feel more at ease. I agree, I shouldn't focus on the nervousness so much.

I would agree that nursing school so far is not any harder than any other pre-reqs I've taken, if not easier than some. I hope that by the time I graduate I will feel that the experience was not as bad as I've been told it was...which is how it's going so far.
