Feeling very blessed!

:DI can't help but be all smiles and feel so very blessed right now. I just finished my LPN school and am awaiting to take boards. I was stressed bc the current LTCF I work at as a CNA did not have any openings for me and I was having to look elsewhere for employment. I was so afraid that I wasn't going to find a job like most of my classmates. I started just driving around to various LTCF's and filling out applications. The last place I went to I asked to speak with the DON and she ageed. She told me they only had one spot for a new grad and they had been interviewing and hadn't found the right person yet. I started to sell myself the best I could! Later that evening they offered me the position and asked me to start orientation (pending drug screen, background check, ect,)! They are allowing me to work as an LPNA until I pass boards.

I had my 1st day of orientation (you know, the paperwork part) and found out that I also get a $1000 sign on bonus. :yeah: I get $400 on my 1st check, $400 at 90 days and the remainder at 6 months. My schedule also works out great for me and doesn't interfere with my RN classes (I was stressing about this).

I am thanking God that everything is working out right now, it has relieved so much stress!

Too all my fellow new grads out there I hope all of you will soon be as blessed as I feel I am right now. Of course soon all the stress will begin and I will snap back into reality when my floor orientation starts and I see how nursing really is. But for now I am going to live in my glory. Good Luck to everyone! :heartbeat

Congrats! I too am a new nurse. It took me only 3 weeks after I took the NCLEX to get a job! It's a PRN position, but I am soooo thankful for employment! I prayed everyday that God had somewhere He needed me to be, and HE did!

Congrats and good luck on the new job...:)
