FCCJ Fall 2008

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Okay..I was thinking about what everyone was wearing for the day because it would be cool if we all decided on a certain colored top to wear..say black. That way we can recognize who is from allnurses.com. Does anyone else have any ideas??

I was thinkin we would be doing that lottery thing for our schedules on Thursday idk why... But they did say our second orientation is our first day of the semester...well off to bed for fingerprinting in the am goodluck to yall that are waitin on worksource I'm sure they'll be takn care of you guys as well!

I'm glad that I am not the only one realllly needing a schedule. I need mine for insurance purposes. The only way that I stay on my parents insurance is showing them my schedule...fun fun. So I really hope we get them this coming Thursday. On top of that my job needs to know and I'm just curious as to how crazy things will be. Wow!!! I can't believe we will all be in the same place at once in a week and getting this party started. I'm very excited. I know this may seem like a really stupid question, but what is everyone wearing for the first orientation?? Hope everyone is having a great week!!

:hpygrp:

I was planning on wearing white jeans and a grey and white top. I want to just wear dark jeans but I thought might be a little to undressy to meet these higher up people in the nursing department. What do you think? Jeans with a nice top ok? I would say alot of people will be wearing a black top I know it is a staple in my wordrode that I wear alot.

:D

Maybe we could wear name tags or something.

Oh, and where is the nearest Panera to the North Campus? I didn't bring my paperwork to work with me today, does anyone know exactly where the orientation is being held? Is it in the paperwork?

Does anyone know if we wear nametags at orientation? It would make sense. Then we can write our handle on it too. Worksource gave me tuition and $1000 towards books, which I'm not going to complain about. Oh, another thing they mentioned - worksource is secondary, which means that if you get a scholarship, they take away that amount from worksource. :banghead: The lady at North campus said to apply for scholarships anyway and she'll fight for us to keep them plus all the money from worksource. I planned on applying for a bunch but there's no point in wasting my time. Just something to keep in mind.

hey guys, i have my appointment for worksource on monday so i'm crossing my fingers! it would be such a relief to get tuition and book money, i still don't know If i get any pell because the financial aid office has still not verified my file.. their making me angry! and for the orientation dresscode, i heard most people wear jeans and t-shirts because it's like an all day thing, and i also heard we do get our schedules that day, lottery style. i think the black shirts is a good idea.. or just nametags, i'm sure some of us will reconize eachother from myspace! anyway, congrats to all of you who got worksource money... how long did it take you to find out? i'm so nervous i won't beable to come up with a way to pay for all of this!

it's held in the auditorium.. which is right outfront of the c building.. if i'm wrong please anyone feel free to correct me, but i think thats what the packet said.

I probably didn't put this on here, but I have a Myspace account just for Nursing. The email to look it up is [email protected]

The orientation is in the auditorium at North Campus. And I might end up wearing a black dress..thats casual and dressy. That way I can't go wrong..lol. I called Mary Ann at worksource today and she will be sending me all the paperwork. Hopefully I can get some type of help with books. That would be sooooo nice. Anyways I have no idea where the closest Panera is to North Campus. I do know that there is a City Walk shopping center right off 95 North if everyone just wanted to get something there. It has a variety of eating places and is roughly 10 mins top from North Campus. Where can we get name tags?? lol

Black shirts/outfits will do fine.

I think we all should wear a green sticker-like nametag with the letters AN on it. Make it quarter-sized and stick it where a nametag would go.

That's my idea. LoL.

hey guys!!

the nearest panera is over there by the airport where they built that new shopping center w/ the new walmart and movie theater. it's kind of like the st. johns town center. it takes about 12 mins to get there and it is right by the expressway. they have other food places there too. i think doing the name tag thing is good for me and i will wear black too:)
