FCCJ Fall 2008

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

yea I just got a Jarvis handbook from my friend that just graduated and it was WAY more helpful with the study guide than that stupid handbook we have. Good Luck Tmrw everyone!

Hey "waitin".....who do you have for Health Assessment and who do you have for Techniques?

For those in Section 11/12 that want to purchase a "Health Assessment" textbook by Jarvis...check out ebay. I just purchased one for $6 w/ $4.50-shipping :)

After that test...I figured that I need to go ahead and pick one up. I don't feel like I got enough of what I needed from the book we've been assigned to use.

Hey "waitin".....who do you have for Health Assessment and who do you have for Techniques?

I have Thom...and things in the class with her have been very frustrating!:banghead:

well at least im not the only one that feels completely defeated in these classes, its almost like some of our teachers have got so much going on in their lives like work , and school themselves that when it comes to teaching us we get the shaft, i get the feeling that some are just there for a paycheck and could care less if we get efficient training or not. i feel so completely unprepaired, and even if we studied it wont be on the test ughhh.....i feel like I could break down and cry:cry:

I know, I have Thom for concepts and we're pretty bewildered much of the time. I read over pharm yesterday and wonder how they got to the conclusion that self-study pharm (really) would be best. I can't wait til December. It's going to be a long semester.

Yeah, Concepts always ends up giving me headaches. By the time I am out of there I have a headache and I still have at least 5 hours before I can go home. I don't think it would be so bad if everything wasn't always getting messed up. I don't see how the teachers can get mad when we get upset. This is our future, we have all sacrificed, worked hard and paid a lot of money to get to where we are. We don't want it just handed to us, but we need a fighting chance.

Amen, sister.

I'm just really nervous about "Simulations" tomorrow.

Health Assessment grades have been posted; I failed.

hey everyone!!

mel i am sorry u failed, i almost failed i was only a few pts away. this is all very fustrating! we were clearly at a disadvantage when we took that test. i mean heck we did not even have the right book! which imo we should have retested on the stuff in our book or given a better curve than what ever they gave us. the section that everyone passed was probably the section who got the teacher who wrote that test. blah blah blah whatever i am over it i guess. next time i am going to study everything i can possibly think of for health assessment.

you guys we have got to get pass this first semester!!! i know we can do it. i have to keep telling myself this everytime i take a quiz or test or when my teacher knows less than me. lol funny but so true, i think some of our teachers learn right with us when they are going through those powerpoints. well back to studying.

ps i am so glad simulations are over!!!! now i am going to focus on this iv cal test! good luck on monday everyone. muah:heartbeat

Sorry to hear that, Mel. I'd be interested to see the tests and what adjustments were made.
