FCCJ admission..

I am sorry, but I really do not think you are going to get in this semester. 164 is way too low. I am giving it to you cut and dry. The score has been is in the 180's the past two years, and it is very unlikely that it will decrease. I would continue to pray about it, and see what happens, but study hard and try your best to finish as much as possible next time. I did not finish the first part either, so I know what you mean, but I got a 199 overall. Good Luck.

when I'm doing the points for my NAT, do I add up the RAW SCORE or PERCENTILE? (ie. total raw x .64 or total percentile x .64)

raw score and make sure you are adding the correct 3 categories.

The minimum for last semester's application was 190.14 points (or very close to it), so anyone who has a value less than that will not be considered for acceptance. I'm sorry, I would suggest re-taking the NATS and trying next semester! Sorry! Has anyone heard of the day that acceptance letters are sent out? I'm sooo anxious!

Well actually last semester for the fall was 186. The applications were due on June 1 and the acceptance letters arrive 6-8 weeks after that

When doing pre-requisite point calculations, can you add college chemistry (intro or chem1) to the quality points?

Does a D in humanities count for 3 points or none?

If I take a different humanities (foundations) and get an A or B, does that grade count towards the quality points instead since my D was not really a passing grade? I'm having to re-take my humanities to meet my AA degree requirements.

I'm not sure about the CHM, however I do know that if you received a "D" in humanities it will not count. A D is not a passing grade, therefor you will have to take it again. Once you have received a higher grade for the humanities, that will count towards the point calculation. I know that for the Spring Semester 09, the cutoff was 190.xx points and with each semester the minimum points increases It looks like your best bet would be to re-take humanities and hope for the best!!

CHM is not considered towards points. Your highest grade in a math class College Algebra or higher is used. Your highest grade for a HUM is used as well. This is not a total GPA situation.

I would contact the nursing office to see what THEY calculated your points to be.

Like it has been posted, you most likely need over 190 pts for acceptance. You can retake courses and retake the NAT to improve your points.

I took my exam on the computer, and didn't realize you only get credit for correct answers, and no penalty for wrong answers. I kind of messed myself up by not answering 2/3 of the first 3 sections. I was doing all the non verbal and never finished the verbal and arithmetic.

So, if the time starts running out it doesn't affect my points to just "christmas tree" the rest of the section?

Lastly, do you think the paper exam is better than taking it online??

Is the "ARCO-Nursing School and Allied Health Entrance Exams" the best study guide for the NAT or would a guide from books-a-million be a better source? I've tried to rent the ARCO a few times but it's never at the FCCJ library, so I just took the test aimlessly.

Having been there and done that....I know a lot of things have changed since 5 years ago when I graduated from FCCJ, but the minimum admitted was a score over 190. I know several people who have applied and they have 200+ points. Just an FYI, you may want to up your score if you can. Maybe retake a class? Not sure. Still don't let these messages on this site get you down. I applied twice. The first time I didn't get in. Back then, I was placed on a waiting list. The 2nd time I applied, I was in. That was 5 years ago. Keep your head up... You can do it!
