Alright, I know it's early but...who is planning on applying to the Fall 2014 SSC/UCF Concurrent program? I just finished my prerequisites today and I'm so excited to get going. I am planning on taking the TEAS for the first time in January so hopefully I'll do well.
One question I have is what should I do during the spring semester? I completed my AA degree as of today but unfortunately, my family kind of relies on my FA money to get by. I'm wondering if there is an AS degree I can enroll in so that I'm still eligible for FA until the nursing program starts. I saw something for Health Information Technology that might work. Anyway, just thought I'd see who else is applying and if anyone else is in the same financial situation as me.
I hope to get to know some of you soon!
I am not sure. If I were to guess I'd say around 200 applicants. But, don't forget some of the applicants got into UCF's Basic and Accelerated program :) Also, I have heard a lot of people turn in the application and do not even quailfy to apply! Long story short...don't let the number of applicants scare you! If you have the GPA, TEAS score, and a little faith you will be just fine. I know everyone has been looking forward for this day of acceptance to come forever. Just remember: you've worked hard for it and you deserve it! Best of luck and hope to meet everyone soon!
I'm betting that I'm not the only one who feels like a kid waiting for Christmas!! I've been trying to not worry, or think of the decisions, but It's starting to get hard to NOT think about it. I've been catching myself checking emails A LOT more often than usual! Best wishes to us all and here's to hoping tomorrow is THE day...
Only a month's wait is not too bad ! You guys are almost there!
I hope the VC/UCF one follows the trend!
Does anyone know how they weigh in GPA? Do both SSC and UCF weigh the gpa differently/pre-req. science?
The reason I ask is because with UCF I have a 4.0 on the science pre-req. and 3.9 overall on their required pre-reqs. Valencia has Eng. Comp I as a pre-req. for the program and I scored a B (my lowest score on the TEAS V was on grammar, go figure). So...my pre-req GPA would be just a tad bit lower on the Valencia side. My A.A gpa is 3.80.
I received a call this afternoon from Seminole State's registration department asking me about my plans for Fall of 2014. She went on to tell me that they (Nursing Dept.) are in the process of sending out acceptance, and denial notifications so to be on the look out. I almost passed out when she said her name and then said she was with Seminole State! hahaha. I could finally breath again once I figured out it wasn't the Nursing Dept. about my application. I'm on the edge of my seat...can't wait!!! Good luck to everyone!!!
