  1. You were absolutely correct. If there was no order written by the MD in the chart, and the morphine was not on the EMAR you should not give it. You also were correct in not entering a verbal order that you did not receive. The nurse that directly received the verbal order from the MD is the one who is responsible for entering it into the chart. The only concern that I would have is that in the hospital where I work, the nurse that pulls the narcotic from the Pyxis is the one responsible for that med. If you pulled morphine from the Pyxis and you did not give it, it should have been returned to the Pyxis by you. If she "snatched " the morphine, that you pulled, from your hands to give to a patient, without a written order, without the med on the MAR, without scanning, you need to let your unit supervisor or nurse manager know immediately, because it looks like you pulled a vial of morphine that just disappeared.
  2. A little late in posting, but now that I'm not bouncing off the walls i can say...I got my acceptance emails today too. So very happy and excited and looking forward to meeting you all!
  3. I'm betting that I'm not the only one who feels like a kid waiting for Christmas!! I've been trying to not worry, or think of the decisions, but It's starting to get hard to NOT think about it. I've been catching myself checking emails A LOT more often than usual! Best wishes to us all and here's to hoping tomorrow is THE day...
  4. I hope I'm not jinxing myself by even asking...but, your future is what you believe it to be so think positive thoughts right!?...I thought it would be helpful to try to pick up items required for the program here and there when I spot sales or good deals...has anyone seen a list or heard what exactly would be required for the concurrent program? I know somewhere on the UCF site I saw that we would need a watch with a second hand and all white, non-skid, all leather shoes...has anyone heard of any other requirements/specifics for uniforms or supplies?
  5. Thanks! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. I know it's a competitive program, but I think that camaraderie is beneficial for everyone - from what I've heard, the program is trying and I'm sure a good support system for everyone that gets in will be helpful.
  6. Hi all ...I'm really glad to have found this board. The suspense and anxiety can be a little overwhelming; it's a little reassuring to know so many others are also feeling this way and going through the same things. :) I applied for the fall concurrent program. I'm especially anxious about my TEAS score. I only got an 83.3 I'm really impressed with those who got a 90 or above. Bravo! My overall gpa is 3.9 and my adjusted pre-req gpa is 4.0; I'm hoping that helps salvage my lower TEAS score. Best of luck to everyone!!!
