Hello Los Angeles pre-nursing students,
I have applied to PCC, GCC, L.A. County Allied Health, LACC, LAVC, ELAC and LATT.
I just got word that I have been accepted into the Fall 2013 LACC ADN program.
So even though LACC is not my first choice, I am extremely happy to have won the lottery.
We all know that many very qualified students get passed up by the lotteries.
I am still waiting to hear back from my top choice L.A. County (who says they will let people know by middle of May) and PCC (who said they would tell us by end of April/early May).
If you are in the same boat as me, please tell me about your experiences.
Have you or someone you know already attended these programs?
Got any stories to share about what you've been through with this stuff?
My stats:
Anatomy: A
Physiology: A
Microbiology:A
Biology:A
Chemistry: 1st attempt W, 2nd attempt A.
Intermediate Algebra: C
English 101: 1st attempt (18 yrs ago) C, 2nd attempt (2012) A
Speech: A
Psych 41:A
Nutrition: A
TEAS 5: 88%
Good luck to all of you.

You should have heard from PCC.
I got my acceptance letter on Friday April 27, and on Monday April 29, my friend for a letter as an alternate.
Just FYI.
Though I think PCC still goes by lottery.

Those are some awesome grades! I will be applying to La County in the fall. I'm sure u will get into LA County with those stats! :)
Yeah, I am losing faith in PCC but I just heard from GCC and I got accepted! Now I have to decided between LACC and GCC. I think GCC would be better but I need to do some research first. Thanks so much for responding.
I think LA County is telling people by May 15th. But I got a letter from GCC today and I also was accepted there! Woo-hoo!
Congratulations!!!!

Frm what i hear the program at GCC is awsome but the time commitment is huge if you are Day you have to be available M-F 6a-10 pm and you may be given an 7p-7a. I wanted to do that program but i have to work part time. When i went to the info session they made a point saying that you should not work, i think they said it at least 4 times.
You can look at the slide show

Good luck! I'm from la but am applying this year for next year. I know a couple of those schools are lottery like PCC and GCC. I'm surprised CSULA isn't on your list. That's where I'm going to apply!

I just started my prereq's at LAHC. I need to take a few gen ed classes such as speech, pol sci in 2013 summer and physio and psych in 2013 fall to complete all req's. Can you give me any ideas on when and were to apply in case I don't make the lottery selection at LAHC. Also, which colleges in the LA area are easier to get in. I'm totally new at this. I just recently got very interested in the nursing field cs I really enjoyed my anatomy and microbiology classes. I thought they were very interesting and my teachers are awesome. I'd really appreciate all info.
I think LATTC has rolling admissions

I applied LA County, and I'm still waiting to hear back. They said the cut-off for Fall 2013 is 81 points.
