Failed in Virginia, what now?

Published

Took my test on 7/20, 5.5 hours and 265 questions. Tried the pearsonvue trick, I get to the CC screen. VA doesnt do quick results, and the license lookup page and phone number does not show any information. I was told if I passed, it would be up by Tuesday (today). So, I failed.

Does anyone know if I have to pay for the state application fee again? Or just the $200 to pearsonvue? I couldn't find the information.

Im not shore how's in u state, but i failed this June too in CA and yes, I have to pay 150$ then 200$ :((

When you log onto the Virginia department of health site, it will say "pending". When they post your license, it'll say "no license". You have to click the link above it, which directs you to your license. Did you click the link? I took it in virginia couple days ago. Try checking it again.

I know how you feel I did whole 265 questions and took me literally whole 6 hours.

Still says no license. So I guess I wait to hear something official? Or is there anything else I can do to make the process faster? I waited 2 months for my ATT letter and then 3 weeks to test. So hard to wait!

You have to wait for a candidate report if you failed. If it says license pending then you have not been granted a license. They don't mark the status as 'failed' it stays pending until you pass and are granted a license.

Hurry up & wait is the hardest part.

I live in Virginia and start school next month, and that question has already been pestering my subconscious. Do you have to pay again if you fail the NCLEX? So I guess every time you take it you have to pay the fees again? Hoping you get good news!

Yes at minimum you must pay the $200 test fee to Pearson Vue regardless if your state charges a retest fee

This was on the licensing of registered nurses for VA. Application to retest, a $50 fee to VA is required in addition to paying Pearson Vue
