Failed for my second time

Published

I just took my boards again last Friday for the second time and I just found at today that I did not pass again. My first test I had 75 questions and walked out knowing that I hadn't passed. My second test I had 243 questions and felt a little better about it when I walked out, but still was unsure because I have a lot of self confidence issues. I feel like I don't know where to go from here. I did a online review course both times through ATI, I studied my Saunders book and did other review questions on the CD. I just wanted to know what review courses or review options worked well for some of you so I can get myself on the right track again. As much as I don't want to take this test again I know there is a reason God is having me go through it for a third time so hopefully he will lead me through it in the right direction this time.

That's okay, give yourself some time and get back into studying. Sometimes you can have too many books to review causes anxiety and the material is never learned. Last week I found out I failed for the 4th time and have to do it again you are not alone. Another student sent me this poem and I will pass it on to you.

THERE IS NO GROWTH WITHOUT EFFORT.

You grow by responding positively to change.

Growth means change and change involves risks when

stepping from the known to the unknown.

Your strength and growth will come only

through continuous effort and struggle.

All your growth depends on activity.

There is no development without effort.

Trouble is the common denominator of living.

It is the great equalizer.

Your trials, your sorrows and your grief's will develop you.

Whatever good or bad fortune comes your way,

you can always give it meaning

and transform it into something of value.

Wealth is nothing, position is nothing, fame is nothing.

Who you become inside is everything.

What happens is not as important as how you react to what happens.

For the next time think about trying Suzanne's Plan. The first Tip is listed under revision of Suzanne's First Tip. The first tip is using only the Saunder's 4th Ed. Comprehensive Review NCLEX-RN Examination and going through each chapter doing the quiz only and if you score 75% go on, if not spend time and review the chapter and you should get a 90%. After this you contact Suzanne. You are not alone so don't even think that, just get back up and prepare again. Read about Suzanne's plan, its been pretty successful if done correctly. moz-screenshot-5.jpg:typingmoz-screenshot-4.jpgmoz-screenshot-3.jpg

:( Sorry to hear you did not pass this time. Consider Suzanne's Plan. I hear so many good things about her plan.

You can and you will succeed. Good Luck!

I just failed for the second time as well. If there is one thing I has learned in the past few days it is that we are not alone. There is still hope. Maybe try something different this time? I know I am!

Hello MeggieSue,

You are not alone this is something that I learned from this website. I am sorry to hear about your news but it can only get better which will make you the competent nurse you want to be. For the next time, you need to change up your studying. Check out Suzanne's Plan, it's free and she's had lots of success in helping others pass this exam. Many people suggested it to me so I did start Tip#1 today. Hang in there, I found out last week I did not pass my 4th time so I am determined to do this with lots of prayer. Check out the prayer thread because sometimes we need GOD'S help and guidance in difficult situations. Best of Luck!:icon_hug: (((HUGS!!!))):spnngwlcm:

Thanks for the encouragement and the welcome. I am planning to do Suzanne's plan this time - 3rd time's a charm, right?

Hi just want to say don't give up and I also failed the first time, so the second time around, I assessed myself bout my weak and strong areas to study. So what I did was to study the difficult areas first. I've had difficulty in cardio, neuro and pharm stuff, only got 60% on practice tests. So what I did was to study and re-read again until I got 80% on the practice tests. And so forth..please read my previous post bout passing and slaying nclex..hope that'll help :)

Thank you for the studying tips and kind words -- your advice is certainly helpful and definately makes sense. God bless!
