Location: Texas I was injured at work and treated with PT and medication. I'm also in nursing school. Due to the nature of my injury, I wasn't able to sit in a chair, attend lecture, or study as I was on strong painkillers. I failed my lecture class and was denied re-admission. The school was well aware of this and had offered me medical withdrawal. I didn't take it at the time but it was ONLY because I needed to work. (My job sponsors my education) I couldn't stop working. I was desperately trying to stay afloat. I appealed, presented my evidence, my case and was denied. Question is, can ANYTHING be done at this point? Can I talk to a lawyer about this and make them reconsider?

Try contacting the school to see if they will give you a retroactive medical withdrawal. Talk to them to see if you can reapply in the future, once your health issues have resolved.
Frankly, I am rather shocked at this story. Good nursing schools want high graduation rates and try to work with students to ensure this. Make sure you have documentation of your medical issues and you can also apply to other schools in the future, explaining why you were not able to complete nursing school.
Best wishes.
