Took it today............got to 219, time ran out!

I felt like I was taking a pharmacology exam

I had drugs for every other question....it was sooo unfair

I don't have my official results... but I did do the pearsonvue thing!

I did Kaplan and got 58% on both Trainers 6 and 7

Now what!?

I felt like all the stuff I saw on the exam I never even studied.......I focused on the usual diseases that Kaplan's questions presented to me....Addisons, Thyroidism all that good stuff....

The exam game me only drugs, calculations, and some other disease

How do I prepare for round 2?

How do I pick myself up?

How?

Thanks:scrying:

Wait for your results before you start thinking you have to study again. Good luck

try the pearsonvue trick.. u might surpirse urself... go online and log in to ur pearsonvue account try to register for another exam... if it stops u from registering it means you passed.. it truly works!!!

ok never mind.. i see that u already did the pearsonvue trick.. im sorry.. i dont know what to say.. give urself a week off.. and then start to study.. and my tip would be.. use the kaplanSTRATEGIES!!!! those r really helpful..everyone im asking that passed used the strategies.. which involve nursing process , ABC, and maslow..good luck!

guys!! I did the trick! it lets me pay.....

like i said.. use ur kaplan strategies.. i know they dont work for every question.. but just try to "determine the outcome" .. if that is a choice.. and try to pick an answer that relates to safety, maslow, abc, or the nursing process

I got all 265 questions and I felt totally lost. I did the pearson trick and basically I failed. How do you study for this test? I got 60% and above on all the Kaplan tests and did awesome on all the ATI material.:banghead:

I felt totally lost too....

I did Kaplan but I realized that that method works only when it applies and MOST QUESTIONS REQUIRE YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THAT TOPIC.. then the stratgery works (Maybe) thing was that I got topics that I kinda skipped over and TONS AND TONS of med questions repeated over and over every other question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How come some people only get a few and then some non at all??

Mind you it's not like these were the common stuff you read about.... it was toally random packs of ****!

I did Kaplan (Been there done that...) I need to revise all my content..........

It sucks!

and hurts

I agree..I saw stuff I never even heard of in class or in my studies. I felt defeated after I got to about 180 questions. They say it is a progressive test that it will keep asking you similar questions until you either answer correctly or it means you just dont know it. Thats how they get a baseline either above or below the baseline.Yoo many questions below and you fail or if you stay right on the line you fail. You have to answer the majority of the question at of above the baseline. Cant say this is gospel but it what I was told.

That's sooo funny....you're right...It doesn't stop asking you the same thing unless you get it right...I kept saying in my mind I did over 1000 Q bank questions and didn't see this... why don't you ask me one of those 1000 questions that were similar... It never happened!

Well....

That's done and life goes on

I'm not sure if I even want to log on to Kaplan anymore

Any other methods of studying for this? I need something that works because I now feel like I need to pick up my fundamentals text book and start from page one to be successful and I know I don't have to do that... So what do I do?

I'm sorry to hear that the trick gave you the bad news.. It must be really hard at this moment, I don't know what to say... :(

About what material or method, I would start with something I am comfortable with. In my humble opinion, they are all good, it just depends on us which one works better for us... I guess it's about how we feel comfortable with the material. I have all kinds of books and computer CD to study, but I only focused on one of them. I picked the one that I could understand easier and comprehend faster.

It's always easy said than done... I can't really suggest a method as everyone is different, however, working system by system worked for me... I also answered all of the exam cram pharmacology questions and scrutinized every single one of them...

I bought the Kaplan 2010 study guide and did about 2,000 questions on Kaplans website. I passed with 75 questions and I feel that using Kaplan really helped. As far as the med questions; remember common side effects for most drugs such as GI issues. Wait for your results and use them as a study guide to take it again. Most people fail because of nerves so make sure that everyday you tell yourself that you will pass and just keep going with Kaplan questions.

Good luck.
