Hello there,

First of all I want to say that cheer up...I am sure you are not alone. You have seen many posts on this forum that says that they failed their exam.

When you are freaked out right before the test...your body put out stress hormones like cortisol. Cortisol acts a cap on your brain, then you are blank, you forget everything you know.

I will suggest that you review all questions and do it on computer. When you are taking those practice exams online , always act like you are in test center. And on the day of exam, think that you are taking another practice test. Get good 8 hr sleep before the test, dont touch the book even the morning of the test. You have studied enough, reviewed enough, there is nothing else that you can learn.. so just relax and give it another shot. You know the problem is not your knowledges, it is the nervousness. So try techniques to relieve your stress..

Get up, freshen up, and show the NCLEX whoes the boss.

what review have you done? have you try suzanne's plan? just Never give up. I am not going to do that either. trust me, I know how you feel. this will be mine 6th time. I am sick of it but this is my dream. I am not going to let this test get the best of me. I am currently doing suzanne's plan hopefully this will help me.

need to study hard, be confidence that you know the basic and dont let your anxiety get the best of you. above all, make sure you are ready to take the exam the next time.

I'm sorry to hear that you failed. It's easy to feel like giving up, but don't. I failed my exam and now in the process of taking it again, but not yet. I was doing orientation while I was studying for this..BIG MISTAKE. But you'll make it. This test does not tell you how your going to be as a nurse, it doesn't mean that your a failure. You will pass, no matter how many times you have to take it and so will I. In the end, we will have the right to say, we earned it and deserved it and be the best nurse we can be, despite setbacks, we're winners, b/c we're able to pick ourselves up despite of defeat and carry on.

I feel the exact same way as you right now. I have taken the NCLEX now two times and have failed. I study very hard and go over many practice questions it is just when I get to the test I freak out and forget everything, kind of like what you feel. You are not alone, and we will get through this. Good luck next time.

Consider Suzanne's Plan and reading thru the Random Facts Sticky. Good luck!:D

Hi Lilemon27,

I know how you feel. I just found out I did not pass my second time around either. I've tried studying from several recommended books like Saunders, Mosbys, and Kaplan. I also took the Kaplan review course which wasn't much of a help. Sometimes I feel like giving up too but it is important to stay positive and strong. I explained my situation to my recent nursing professor today to seek advice and she is willing to work one on one with me. I am also considering using Suzanne's plan. Maybe you can consider doing these things as well. You're in my prayers and I wish you all the best. Your time will come. :wink2::redpinkhe

plenty of people have had a rough time with this test. I personally failed it 3 times. The fourth time I used Suzanne's plan and had to take a prescription to decrease the anxiety. I passed on the 4th time. Depression does get the better part of you, but you have to overcome it. Pick yourself up and try it again. I wish you the best! you can do this!!

I highly suggest using Suzanne's plan. I used her plan along with reading Kaplan's overview of how to narrow down the choices given. I passed on my first attempt in Aug.

Good luck and don't give up. I failed my test the first time, and will be going back for my second try. I am not giving up until I pass it! We are RN's already, we just need to get past this last exam!!:wink2:

Could someone please give me the details of this Suzzane's plan so i can get this and use..
