I am not sure where to go to study. I need an app. I flunked my first test and dont want to do that again

I'm not sure you need an app, but you will definitely need to study. Take some time to decide what areas you felt you struggled with and tackle those first. Study up on your pharmacology too. When testing, take your time. Eliminate the obvious wrong answers. Something that helped me a lot was to read the answers first, then the question. There are a lot of practice exams available both online and in book form. I think those were beneficial as they gave you a feel for what to expect.

Why do I say you don't need an app? I don't think apps really help you learn the information. I bought several apps and app study guides and they didn't really help. (Plus many of them were full of errors - yikes!)

If you do feel you study better with apps, there are a multitude of NCLEX apps available both with Apple and Android devices. Buyer beware though, they are only as accurate as the creator makes them.

Good luck to you!

How, what did you study the first time? You don't need an app, you need tried and true study guides.

How were you studying in the beginning? Did you take a review class? (Kaplan, hurst)?

I suggest you come up with a game plan such as when to study during the week, how long to study, set an amount of questions to do daily, and lists area of weakness that you can focus on.

Don't give up! You can do it! Some of my classmates had to take it more than twice! You time will come, just study hard and commit to your study schedule.

I had a good experience with the live Hurst Review for the NCLEX. After having taken that review and answering questions from the Saunders Comprehensive Review book, I passed NCLEX on my first attempt with the minimum number of questions.

Good luck to you.

Kaplan and hurst , they compliment each other , if you can take both but if finances are tight I would use hurst first

I used Hurst and UWorld. They were honestly amazing. I failed twice with 265 questions. Third time I passed with 75. Hurst made me feel confident about the test and it was really easy to use (I did the online part of it). UWorld has some of the best questions and best rationales, their mobile app is also really great.

Also the study guide going around on allnurses is great too.

I used the Kaplan program to do most of my studying and went through most of the Qbank. I had a hard time answering questions on the computer though so I got NCLEX RN Mastery and NCLEX Stanford Review RN Qbank apps for my phone, both of which I found a lot more helpful than Kaplan. I used those apps to answer questions during TV commercials, while I was waiting in line, etc. I suggest looking at what your weak areas are and starting there with a bit of content review and lots and lots of practice questions. Try to do about 100-200 practice questions a day and make sure to look at all of the rationales, even the ones you get right. Also practice lots of SATA questions. Good luck!

Just having an app doesnt help you pass. You definitely need to take the time to study.
