You must have a valid SSN or ITIN to even apply in CA or your application will be rejected without refund. IN requires a license in country of education.

I am aware California is a bit tricky. From the past, they usually haveve a separate credentialing among other states. New York is another one. I have seen this with my family when they went to do their papers in Pharmacy, Accounting, Architecture, and PT.

Mentoring is also an issue with them. Even though I have lots of families in California, I tried not to apply there to get away from issues that may arise in completing the requirements.

I already inquired about SSN with few states and I do agree that some states will require it nevertheless a majority of them do provide a temporary one which usually starts with "0". I do say this because I had temporary SSN issued to me in the past without being a resident of the US.

"VERIFICATION OF LICENSURE - Graduates of foreign schools of nursing shall meet the following qualifications before being licensed in Indiana: Be licensed in the territory or country in which they graduated. We must receive official verification of your nursing license from the territory or country you graduated in."

I am still awaiting for the result of my credentials evaluated by IERF. I started doing all the work before Christmas. Might take at least 6 to 8 weeks to know the outcomes.

I took NCLEX twice, failed my first attempt (didn't study as much) and passed the second one just last week. Here's what I did. I used Saunders on my first try, did the cd questions and what not and read the book, took the test failed with 260 questions. Depressed and frustrated, took months of mental break and decided to study harder than the last one. I did Hurst for the most part, scheduled the test and about 4 weeks before the test I purchased LaCharity book. Now, lacharity kicked my behind and kicked it hard, but all I can say is that it made the test easier for me and passed!

I took NCLEX 10 years after finishing Nursing school. If I can make it, so can you!
