hello all, unfortunately i'm writing about recently failing my NCLEX for the first time; and by recent i mean i tested on Monday and found out a few hours ago.
i took Kaplan in March and found that it confused me more than helped. i'm looking into other reviews such as Excell and Hurst and was wondering what everyone's experiences were with each. i'm also interested in resources you all used.
any information from anyone would help. i'm especially interested in hearing from people who have failed their first exam and passed the second time around.

Doesn't Kaplan have a guarantee? Either repeat review or refund? If so, take the refund and try Hurst or another review.
they do but unfortunately i graduated from a school that is not NLN or CCNE-accredited only state accredited therefore Kaplan will not offer a repeat review or refund.
Too bad. Check with your school for resources as they have a vested interest in you passing the NCLEX

I can only share my experience with Hurst... That was the only review I took. I did the live review over 3 days and I took it about a week before my NCLEX. I think that they did a great job presenting the information, concentrating on core content, and helping to reconnect some of the "dots"... However, I believe UTA (the school I graduated from) provided a great foundation because Hurst didn't cover anything I didn't already know. It was nice to review some of the information, but I can't say it was the reason I passed first time with 75 Q's.
Sorry to hear you didn't have success this time, but good luck and hopefully you'll be back to share your joy!

Hi nana!
Hurst is the best it will make clear your concept even though it does not cover everything but it does cover important concepts
because there is no one in this who can say they read the text books and pass the exam so do the hurst reveiw the videos will motivate you to read plus do alot of questions like 50 questions a day form anywhere kaplan, saunder you will be fine with that....

I love Hurst! If you have problems understanding Kaplan..Hurst will probably be a better for you. Hurst really breaks it down in a way to make you understand and connect all those dots..Good Luck!
I did hurst and passed my NCLEX-RN in May.
I used Hurst for Content
Exam Cram for questions- 4th edition--(just the question book)

Keep your head up...it's jus a Test!! I failed on first try too my anxiety got best of me. But I turned it around got motivated to study harder. You know this stuff because you made it of out school so just relax and Regroup! Prepare a different strategy. I did Kaplan but it didn't help me cuz I failed. So I studied exam cram, and ATI. Don't overwhelm yourself with too many resources.
I learned to pray and prayed everyday. Claim it...Victory is Yours!
Good Luck!
