hi everyone,
i took my boards for the second times on the 7th of march and i felt really good about it when it cut off b/c i believed i would finally pass this time. i graduated in 2005 and its just been really hard this year knowing all my friends passed and i didnt. the first time i had 75 questions and this time i had 100. i got my report back and it said i was below passing in 3 areas: physiological adaptation, reduction of risk potential, & psychosocial integrity. my friend told me about this site and i was hoping i could get any advice. yesterday when i got my letter i was so upset b/c i have been waiting for it for days and the reason i hadnt got it is b/c my husband got it out of the mailbox and didnt give it to me. he said that he didnt want to upset me. i then paid to take it again in 45 days. i feel a little better this morning about it but im still so mad. i just feel like all nursing students work so hard in school, (i mean it takes over your life for 2 years) then you get out and study hard again and still cant work. i just sometimes feel like i cant win for losing. please anyone who dont think im crazy or just feeling sorry for myself, help me and pray for me to do it the next time.
p.s. any tips or sites where i can get any, please respond

hi,
i am sorry for you:flowersfo . i took boards way too long ago to have any advice (some of the great people we have here can help you), i just wanted to respond to you.
don't give up...all of that hard work wasn't for nothing. some just have a harder time with the test. you are not crazy or whining...it is a terrible disappointment and you have the right to be upset and sad.
my prayers are with you for the next time you take them and hugs to you now:icon_hug: .

hi angel1979 ,
i just want to say don't give up you did not go to school for nothing you are a nurse, i was in your situation i had to take my test twice and on the second time i passed with love and faith from jesus christ and from the tips of suzannes study plan, i advise you to take a look at suzanne sticky it will definitely help you pass the board trust in her study plan, pm her for her study program tell what you used to study and what study method or course you took and she will help you with the rest. remember you are a nurse don't let anyone tell you otherwise. believe in yourself and seek the lord he will answer and give you what you ask for.

Hi, Angel1979!
Keep at it! You now know the areas you are weak in, so review them over and over. Also, review the test-taking strategies and do questions on your computer, at least 100/day as recommended by Suzanne, concentrating on the areas you need to.
Study and review!! and keep us posted!!

Good evening angel1979,
Don't get to down on yourself....Stay positive and focused....Relax take a couple days off and reassess your situation...You can do it; through prayer and God...He never fails...I know it's hard right now but you can do it!!
You graduated from nursing school and you can pass the exam. Have faith and keep studying until you drop...ha...ha....

My cousin took the NCLEX three times before she finally passed. Before she took it the last time, she asked all the family members to pray. We prayed for a weekend for her and she finally passed. She also knew the areas of weaknesses and focused on them. You will pass, just keep God first and everything else will fall in place. Good luck and may God bless you.
I am hoping to be ready by May to retake it.
I am following Suzannes plan and I wan to make sure I do everything the way she recommends.
I am trying to go through the Sauders book (her first tip) but I have to do this first in order to get to the CD and when I do I need to do it for 6 weeks.
How are you planning to study this time.
I am studying with totally different material since i worked with Kaplan the first time.

Please do not give up !!! You will pass it is just a matter of when...Heck, I think I passed because I was able to make educated guesses about the NCLEX....I know it is easy to give this advice when you are the one who did not make it but believe me it is more common than you know. In my graduating class that started with 30 students, 9 survived the program, several have not passed the NCLEX. Pride is a big thing alot of people will never admit if they also took the NCLEX more than once. What you need to do is figure out where you are lacking in skills, perhaps you need to learn test taking strategies to better help you when you do not know the content. Please do not compare yourself the the others it does no good. I graduated with a 2.5 GPA not good and passed. Our Cum Laude student took the NCLEX twice! Please don't despair.
